The wooden doors of the Kim household creaked open as Jungkook stepped inside with a bounce in his step, excitement written all over his face. Taehyung trailed a few steps behind, quiet and composed.

"Namjoon-hyung is my dad's legal advisor, and his husband, Seokjin, is a part-time school teacher," Jungkook said over his shoulder, grinning as he looked back at Taehyung. "I'm telling you, Captain, you're going to love them. They're hilarious!"

Taehyung didn't respond, maintaining a professional air. His gaze swept over the cozy interior—the polished wooden floors, soft yellow lighting, and walls adorned with pictures that exuded warmth and familiarity. It was the first time Taehyung had ever set foot in the Kim household. Despite being Jungkook's bodyguard for quite some time, he'd never been invited to this part of Jungkook's world.

Jungkook, seemingly unfazed by Taehyung's lack of response, continued, "Seokjin-hyung's been nagging at me about how I haven't visited in forever. I swear, he's more dramatic than anyone I know." He skipped forward, his voice growing louder as he called out, "Hyung! I'm here! Where's my welcome committee?"

A familiar voice rang out from the living room. "Yah, Jeon Jungkook, keep your voice down! This isn't a concert!"

Seokjin appeared, wiping his hands on a dish towel, Namjoon following closely behind with his usual calm and collected expression. Before either of them could say a word, Jungkook rushed forward, pulling them into a tight hug.

"I missed your cooking, hyung!" Jungkook exclaimed, his grin wide.

Seokjin pulled back just enough to land a playful slap on Jungkook's arm. "And not us, huh? Just my food?"

Jungkook laughed, rubbing his arm as he replied cheekily, "Of course, you more, hyung. Don't be jealous of your own cooking!"

Namjoon shook his head with a soft chuckle. "Jungkook, glad you finally found time to visit us."

Jungkook turned to him with a mock-serious expression. "Hyung, I think you're slacking off at work. The old man's been bothering me way too much lately. Can't you keep him busier? I mean, you're supposed to be his legal advisor."

Namjoon raised a brow, holding back a smirk. "If only you knew how much work there already is. You'd run screaming if you saw my desk right now."

As if to prove his point, Namjoon handed a stack of files to Seokjin. "Here, can you put these in our room? I'll sort through them later."

Seokjin nodded, tucking the files under his arm as he called over his shoulder, "Everyone, make yourselves comfortable. I'll be right back."

Jungkook, ever curious, leaned closer to Namjoon. "What are those? Something exciting?"

Namjoon shook his head. "Just layouts for some investment deals your dad's working on. He's trying to rope in a few investors for a development project in the country."

Jungkook's eyes immediately glazed over with boredom. "Ugh, boring. Next topic, please."

As the group moved to the dining area, Jungkook plopped himself down in one of the chairs, spinning it slightly for dramatic effect. Meanwhile, Taehyung remained standing near the doorway, his posture rigid, clearly unsure if he should join in or stay back.

Namjoon noticed and gestured toward Taehyung with a kind smile. "You don't need to stand there like a statue. It feels overly formal—and awkward. In our house, everyone's a guest. Come, sit. You're doing the hard job of managing this brat; you deserve some extra food."
