Ren Qingqiu emerged from the shower later than she expected, thinking Bai Yuxi would be resting in bed. To her surprise, Bai Yuxi was engrossed in reviewing materials for the next competition.
Her movements as she flipped through the documents were graceful and silent, captivating to watch.
Ren Qingqiu quietly admired her profile, feeling a strong urge to kiss her.
It seemed Bai Yuxi sensed her presence, casually stretching her hand back and hooking Ren Qingqiu’s hand with the one holding the pen.
Having just showered, Bai Yuxi wasn’t wearing gloves, and her skin carried a hint of moisture, with the scent of orange blossom pheromones occasionally teasing the senses, becoming increasingly enticing.
Just as Ren Qingqiu was about to speak, Bai Yuxi handed her a thick, utterly unromantic stack of materials.
“Take a look at this; we need to collaborate.”
The prospect of a feast that felt like a mere trickle was more frustrating than plain water. Ren Qingqiu closed her eyes in dismay.
This is a trap; it’s forcing me to work on my day off. Had I known I’d need to review materials upon returning, I would’ve dined until dawn.
Covering her face with her hands, she refused to look at Bai Yuxi’s hands or face. She wished she could be deaf and not see the documents in Bai Yuxi’s hand.
“Commander, I’m going to sleep now. I’m tired.”
Her voice carried a hint of grievance, as if she were weakly crawling under the covers.
“You slept until the afternoon today. Aren’t you rested enough?”
Clearly, Bai Yuxi wasn’t buying it. She grabbed Ren Qingqiu by the collar and unceremoniously dragged her out from under the covers.
“Normally, we’ve accumulated so many points in our matches; under these circumstances, we should surely be the champions of the league. I think we should sleep.”
Ren Qingqiu felt a little pitiful, and as she spoke, half of her body shrank back under the blankets.
“Underestimating a match means failure.” Bai Yuxi looked at her seriously, pulling her out again. “We must treat every match with the seriousness it deserves.”
“I want to achieve the best results in every match.”
“Isn’t that a bit excessive for your greed?”
Ren Qingqiu sat up with a forlorn expression. As she flipped through the materials in front of her, a small piece of paper slipped out.
Ren Qingqiu glanced at the note with a terminal number written on it, looking warily at Bai Yuxi. “What is this? Who gave it to you?”
Bai Yuxi paused before answering, “Just now, Fang Rouyu from the Southern Military Academy gave it to me, saying we could discuss tactics and possibly collaborate.”
Ren Qingqiu looked at Bai Yuxi in shock, quickly tucking the strategy note into her pocket.
She remembered that Fang Rouyu from the Southern Military Academy seemed to be an Alpha. Although she couldn’t tell for sure, it seemed people said he had a charming appearance. Ren Qingqiu took a deep breath.
“When did he give it to you?”
Bai Yuxi shot Ren Qingqiu a cold glance. “When Director Jing gave you the motorcycle.”
“…”
Ren Qingqiu quickly shifted the topic away from Jing Zhuo. “Do you think Fang Rouyu is good-looking?”
