A Monster’s Love
The room was filled with the harsh buzz of Kraang technology. Y/N, the once-playful enderman with an ever-curious mind, now sat restrained in a containment field. His glowing eyes, once full of light and wonder, were dim, flickering with malice and pain.
Months ago, Y/N had been captured by the Kraang during an ambush. Their cruel experiments had warped him physically and mentally, twisting his body with grotesque augmentations and clouding his once-kind heart with madness. The creature he had become now terrorized mutants and humans alike, an unrecognizable shadow of his former self.
In the dim light of the Kraang facility, Oroku Saki, known to the world as the Shredder, stood clad in his fearsome armor. He had followed rumors of Y/N’s trail of destruction, determined to confront the being he had once cherished. Behind him were the turtles—unlikely allies for a mission filled with grim uncertainty.
---
"Y/N!" Saki’s deep, commanding voice echoed through the lab as he entered the chamber where Y/N was kept. His sharp eyes scanned the space, landing on the hunched figure crouched in a corner, his once-pristine black form riddled with patches of armor-like growth. Y/N’s body convulsed, twitching unnaturally.
At the sound of his voice, Y/N turned slowly, his movements jerky and unsettling. His glowing purple eyes locked onto Saki, but they bore none of the love or curiosity they once held. Instead, there was a burning hatred mingled with pain.
"Y/N… it's me," Saki said, removing his helmet to reveal the man behind the monstrous guise of the Shredder. His tone softened, though his muscles remained tensed. "What have they done to you?"
Y/N let out an otherworldly, guttural growl, rising to his full height. He loomed ominously, his claws extending as if preparing to attack. “Leave… before I destroy you… too,” Y/N hissed, his voice distorted and fragmented like static.
---
Despite Saki’s attempts to reach out to the creature he had once loved, Y/N attacked. His teleportation was erratic, faster and more unpredictable than ever. The turtles leapt into action, doing their best to subdue Y/N without causing unnecessary harm.
“Master Shredder!” Leonardo shouted, parrying one of Y/N’s devastating claw swipes. “He’s too far gone! We have to end this before someone gets hurt!”
“No!” Saki roared, intercepting one of Y/N’s attacks with his gauntleted arm. “He’s still in there. I know he is!”
Y/N’s attacks slowed for a moment, his glowing eyes flickering as Saki stood before him. But the Kraang's control was too strong. He lashed out again, piercing through Saki’s armor and sending him crashing into a nearby wall.
The turtles hesitated, caught between fighting and standing back to let the Shredder have one last chance.
---
Wounded but defiant, Saki stood once more. He staggered toward Y/N, his helmet discarded, leaving his face visible. “Y/N…” he rasped, his voice heavy with emotion. “I know you’re still in there. Fight it! You are more than what they’ve done to you.”
Y/N froze, trembling violently. His distorted voice crackled, “I… can’t… They made me a monster. But I’ll always…” His claws began to lower, his trembling intensifying. “I’ll always… love you.”
Time seemed to slow as Y/N fell forward, collapsing into Saki’s arms. Whatever fleeting humanity had been clawing its way to the surface gave Y/N a single moment of clarity. He rested his head against Saki’s chest, his voice soft but resolute.
“I’m sorry… I couldn't stop it… But I loved you… I love you…”
Tears welled in Saki’s eyes, something the turtles had never seen before. As Y/N’s form flickered, his body fading into scattered particles of purple light, his eyes locked onto Saki one last time before going dark.
---
The silence was deafening. Saki held Y/N’s lifeless form, his armor shaking as he pressed his forehead to Y/N's. A single tear traced the length of his face. The turtles stood back, struck silent by the raw, heartbreaking moment before them.
Donatello was the first to speak, his voice cautious. “Master Shredder… I’m… sorry.”
“Leave me,” Saki growled, his voice barely above a whisper. But he didn’t lash out or stand. He simply remained there, holding Y/N’s empty shell as though trying to cling to what was left.
Michelangelo stepped forward hesitantly. “He was still in there, dude. You were right.”
Saki’s breathing was unsteady as he finally set Y/N’s remains down gently. Rising slowly, he stared at his own trembling hands, stained with the consequences of his own darkness. He turned to the turtles, his voice breaking. “I… this… this is because of my choices.”
Leonardo stepped forward. “It’s not too late to change. If Y/N can fight to love you even at the end… maybe you can find a way to honor his memory.”
Saki’s shoulders slumped as the weight of his grief overtook him. “I will never forget him… But this path… it brought nothing but ruin.” He straightened, eyes steeled with determination. “I will lay down my blades. The world will see me not as a conqueror but as a man who sought redemption. I owe Y/N that much.”
---
As the group left the ruined facility, Saki lingered a moment longer to place a small, makeshift marker—a promise that Y/N would not be forgotten. Together, they left the lab behind, each step a solemn vow to create a better future, one that Y/N could be proud of.
In the end, Y/N’s love had pierced through the darkness, lighting a path not only for Saki but for those who witnessed the monster who chose to love, even in his final moments.
