As we teleported back to the palace, Loki slung unconscious over Thor's shoulder, we arrived inside the grand hall. The familiar surroundings brought a fleeting sense of calm, though the tension from the Council of Valhalla still clung to the air like an unwelcome guest.
Thor wasted no time.
"Loki!" His voice boomed as he began to shake his cousin roughly.
Loki's limp body flopped back and forth like a ragdoll, but within moments, the trickster god groaned and stirred.
"Ugh... Thor, what the hell?!" Loki rubbed his eyes as he regained consciousness, glaring up at Thor.
"Was that really necessary?" he grumbled, brushing himself off. "You could have just nudged me, you brute."
Thor, entirely unfazed, shrugged and kept walking. "You were being more troublesome than usual. Consider it a lesson in restraint."
Loki trailed behind him, his scowl deepening. "Restraint? Since when have you ever practiced restraint, you oversized oaf?"
I stifled a nervous laugh, exchanging a glance with Odin, who observed the scene with a weariness that spoke of years of similar antics.
"They really do act like brothers." I remarked softly.
Odin sighed. "Loki has always tested limits, even as a child. And Thor, well... he has always been the one to enforce them."
As we made our way deeper into the palace, Odin's demeanor shifted, his eyes narrowing as he turned to me.
"Y/n." he began, his tone more serious now, "earlier, you mentioned knowing what would happen in the council. How did you come by that knowledge?"
My breath caught, heart racing. I forgot Odin overheard me. I need to come up with a plausible explanation—fast.
"Well," I began carefully, "ever since the day I attempted to plant the Yggdrasil Healer flower, I've been experiencing small flashes of memories. Stepping into the council seemed to trigger more. It's like piecing together a puzzle, but... nothing concrete has surfaced yet."
Odin studied me intently, his gaze probing for any sign of deceit. After a moment, he nodded. "Yes, I recall Thor mentioning this. If you uncover anything significant, you must inform me immediately."
"I will, Allfather." I replied, keeping my tone steady.
But Odin wasn't finished. "And your conversation with Hades," he continued, "did he mention anyone by name?"
The question made my stomach twist. I hesitated, carefully weighing my response.
"Yes," I admitted, "he did mention someone. I... I don't remember his name, but he said the person was allegedly the last leader of the Yggdrasil Healers."
I watched as Odin's expression changed, his usually composed features hardening. His body language grew tense, the weight of unspoken thoughts pressing heavily in the air.
"Do you know him?" I asked hesitantly, unable to mask the tremor in my voice.
"I did." Odin said, his voice low and deliberate. "He was an old man—thin and frail, with a long white beard that fell just past his chin. His eyes were piercing, almost unnervingly so, as if they could see straight into your soul."
A chill ran down my spine. He had described my grandfather with an unsettling accuracy.
"If you ever see him," Odin said firmly, his gaze locking onto mine, "you must inform me immediately. Is that understood?"
My throat felt dry, but I managed to nod. "Yes, Allfather."
Before I could dwell on his reaction, Odin turned abruptly.
