Dinner was still a while away, so Addison took the opportunity to look through Juliet''s jewelry album.
Mrs. Astor told her, "If you design something we like, we''ll have your boss make the jewelry. We''ll use your company for the entire process, from start to finish. As for the price, you can name it. We won''t haggle."
Addison smiled. "Thank you, Mrs. Astor." She happily shared the news with Noah.
Noah asked: So, do you have any inspiration? Are you confident?
Addison: Yes!
Noah sent a laughing emoji: You figured it out so quickly. Looks like you got a lot out of your visit to the Astor''s today.
Addison closed her phone. She didn''t dare say more.
She observed Juliet and her fiancé''s relationship. They were so in love, so affectionate. Her fiancé''s eyes never left her.
Honestly, Addison was a little envious. They''d been together for eight years and were about to get married. They loved each other, and there were no obstacles. She wondered what good deeds they''d done in their past lives to be so fortunate in this one.
As dinner approached, Grandma Steele suddenly said, "Addison, why don''t you invite the person you like to join us for dinner?"
Addison was taken aback. "Oh, wouldn''t that be awkward?"
"Invite him over. I can help you assess him. You''re such a catch, what''s he hesitating for? There must be something wrong with him."
Addison scratched her head. One lie required countless others to cover it up.
She glanced at Ethan, who was standing nearby. She didn''t want to be timid, always under his thumb. So she said, "Actually, I''ve given up on him long ago. He has someone he likes, and I don''t think I should interfere."
Grandma Steele was surprisingly pleased. "So you''re single now."
"Yes, Grandma."
"That''s wonderful! When Juliet has her engagement party, I''ll introduce you to some of the single men in our circle. See if there''s anyone you like. You can choose one."
Addison laughed, saying sweetly, "Okay."
At the dinner table, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Ethan said, "Grandma, Aunt''s side of the family doesn''t seem to have many daughters."
Grandma Steele sighed. "That''s right. Only Juliet."
"Then the yin-yang balance is seriously off," he said bluntly. "No wonder my cousins are all a bit... strange."
Grandma Steele paused, displeased. "What do you mean, ''strange''? Watch your mouth."
"That cousin I met last time, he''s around forty, and he''s still not married."
"That''s because he''s focused on his career," Grandma Steele said, reassuring Addison. "Don''t worry, not all of them are old. There are several around your age, and they''re quite handsome."
"Oh, you mean his ''gambling'' career?"
"...Can you please be quiet?"
Addison smiled. "Grandma, let''s talk about it at the engagement party. It all depends on fate. I don''t care about anything else."
Grandma Steele, "I just wanted to know if you''re interested in dating. I think you''re so perfect for settling down, I don''t want to see such a good catch go to waste."
Ethan, hearing this, let out a soft, almost imperceptible chuckle.
Addison instinctively clenched her fingers.
