Control (A Shadow The Hedgehog x Reader Story)

Y/n sat still on the bed, upright but trying to figure out how she was going to get out of this one. Her body stung, as she started noticing more cuts along it. "Ouch" she mumbled looking at them and feeling helpless as she was unable to do anything. Soon she heard footsteps outside, hoping it wasn't Eggman again. She decided just to sit there and wait for the inevitable. 

The door flew open, and she saw an angry looking black and red hedgehog, a slight red glow surrounding him. "Y/n?" he said softly, the glow fading as he entered the room. Seeing him and hearing that name just made her more confused. He walked towards her and she sat still watching. 

"Y/n its me, Shadow" he said, walking closer and sitting on the end of the bed, his voice sounding concerned. "Y/n? Shadow? Sorry... I don't know you... or a y/n..." she said confused. He sighed, looking her over and noticing how many cuts she had, and how her hands looked sore from being tied up. 

Shadow paused for a moment, taking a deep breath and continuing. "Your name is y/n, I think you have Amnesia" he said calmly watching her. He carried on now starting to feel guilty and sympathetic. "My name is Shadow, I've come to get you out of here" he said looking at her, trying to maintain the calm attitude. She still looked confused, but didn't question anything - getting out of this situation did sound perfect after all. She just nodded in response, trying to process everything. 

He shuffled a little closer. "Can I look at your wrists?" he asked, holding his hand out. She hesitated for a moment, before nodding and moving her hands closer to him. He looks, moving them around gently noticing how red and sore they are. "Thats strong rope..." he says, his guilt increasing that she was going through this. "I'll get it off of you, hang on" he says, letting go of her as he looks around the room for something to use to cut it. He searches a box finding a knife, and walks back to her.

She starts panicking a little, seeing him walk with the knife. "Hey hey its okay, I'm just going to cut the rope off thats all" Shadow reassured. She calmed down a little at that, nodding and holding her wrists out, looking away. "I'm going to cut it off now, okay?" He asked, and she nodded in response. He gently teased the rope to make it easier, before cutting and removing the rope. "There, thats better" he says, turning her hands over to see the full extent of the damage. "Now to do the same for your ankles" he said, repeating the action and freeing them too.

He put the knife back where he found it, walking back over to her. "Can you stand?" he asked, offering his hand out for support. She gently moved her legs off the bed, taking his hand trying to stand up. She managed to get on her feet, wobbling and mumbling "dizzy" before sitting back down again. It just made him feel more guilty although he tried to hide it. 

Shadow nodded, before continuing with "don't hurt yourself, I'll carry you". He helped her sit back down, moving her legs back onto the bed and bending them, gently picking her up. "Comfy?" he asked, looking at her with concern as she just nodded. "As comfy as I can be in this much pain... You feel safe and comfortable though, have we met before?" she asked looking up at him. His heart broke a little at hearing her say that, but he tried to hide any emotions, and just nodded, carrying her out of the room and back in the direction of Sonic, walking at a normal pace as to not make her feel worse. 

After two or three minutes he arrived back to the room where Eggman was, still with Sonic guarding him. "Y/n?" Sonic asked softly, seeing her pained eyes. "Thats my name... apparently" she answered. "Y/n this is Sonic, he's a bit annoying but he's safe" he said, passing her to him, making him a bit confused but he held her anyway. "Sonic, I believe y/n has amnesia and I have some ... business to finish, I trust you'll take care of her until I'm done?" Shadow said, glaring at Eggman. 

Sonic nods, holding onto y/n carefully. "We'll go and wait outside for you" he said carrying her back out of the base and a short distance away, glancing down at her every once in a while to make sure she was okay.

Shadow turned his attention back to Eggman and crunched his knuckles, his eyes and body now glowing a dangerous red again.

Sonic carried y/n to the edge of a forest not far from the base, still within view but far enough away to be out of harms way. He looks back at it, able to see the carnage Shadow was causing from their distance. He placed y/n down on the grass, leaning her against a tree. 

"Are you okay?" he asked her, trying to get her comfy. She nodded, somewhat comfy and thankful for both him and Shadow for getting her out of there. "So you really can't remember anything huh?" Sonic asked sounding a little concerned. She looked down for a second, debating what to say. "I remember... waking up tied up, and then I got knocked out by a door... and then I woke up in a different room still unable to remember passed that point" she said. He nodded sadly, watching the base get blown to smythereens. "He seems angry... did I do something wrong?" she asked nervously. 

Sonic looks at the destroyed base then back at her, sympathy in his eyes. "Not at all, he's just annoyed thats all... Its complicated" he says watching as Shadow emerges from the rubble. She nods, listening. "He looked sad, he looked like he knows me but I don't remember him" she added. Sonic just nodded in response, not wanting to say too much and anger Shadow further. Instead, he just replied with "he'll be okay, time heals things eventually" as he watches Shadow start to sprint towards their direction. "He cares about you a lot" he adds just before Shadow arrives back before them.

He stands there, brushing himself off, looking like he had now calmed down a bit. "You look like you're satisfied now" Sonic said looking up at him from the ground. "I feel a bit better now, yes" he answered, before kneeling down on the floor next to y/n. "How are you feeling now?" he asked looking at her softly. "Still dizzy and painful" she answered truthfully. He nodded sadly in response. "Lets get you to somewhere comfortable then, and get you some help" he said, carefully scooping her back up again. 

Sonic stood up too, looking with concern between the both of them. "Thank you for your assistance Sonic, I'll take things from here" Shadow said, nodding his head at him. He smiled softly, wishing y/n a speedy recovery as he left. 

"Lets go, hold on" Shadow said, making sure she was comfy, and she leant into him as he teleported away from the spot.
