The mansion felt lively that morning. After days of rigorous training and missions, the group was finally granted a much-needed reprieve, though that didn't mean the buzz of activity died down. Angel and Haechan were already causing their usual chaos, plotting something that was bound to end with Victoria screaming, while others took the chance to unwind.
Andrea, however, sat in the corner of the common room with Jaemin. The two were shoulder to shoulder, flipping through a book Andrea had snagged from the library. Their heads tilted closer as they whispered jokes to each other, their laughter quiet but warm.
"You know," Jaemin said, nudging her slightly, "we could totally write a better ending to this story."
Andrea smirked, resting her chin on her hand. "Yeah? How would it end?"
"With the main characters realizing how perfect they are for each other," Jaemin replied casually, his voice dipping just enough to make her blush.
Andrea looked away, hiding her smile. "You're impossible."
"And yet, here I am," Jaemin said with a grin.
Their moment, however, was interrupted when Jaeda walked into the room, her commanding presence shifting the atmosphere immediately. Kara and Daiyu trailed behind her, their expressions sharp and observant as always.
"Alright," Jaeda announced, clapping her hands. "We're here to check on your progress. Show us what you've been working on."
The team gathered outside in the training area, where Jaeda, Kara, and Daiyu stood at the edge, watching as each member showcased their skills. From Haechan and Angel's surprisingly effective teamwork to Mark's precision and Chenle's agility, the group impressed their evaluators one by one.
Andrea and Jaemin worked seamlessly together during their demonstration, sparring with a rhythm that was almost hypnotic. Each move flowed into the next, their connection evident in every motion.
"Impressive," Kara said, her eyes narrowing slightly as she studied them. "They've improved."
"They've definitely adapted well to team dynamics," Jaeda agreed, though her attention was divided as she scanned the rest of the group.
It was all going perfectly—until Daiyu stepped forward.
Jaemin had just finished his routine when Daiyu approached him, her movements deliberate and smooth. Andrea paused mid-conversation with Victoria, her brow furrowing slightly as she watched the scene unfold.
"You've improved a lot," Daiyu said, her tone playful as she rested a hand lightly on Jaemin's arm. "I hardly recognized you."
Jaemin blinked, caught off guard by her sudden interest. "Uh... thanks?"
Daiyu smiled, stepping closer. Her fingers brushed through his hair briefly as she added, "That transformation worked really well on you. You're even more attractive now."
