Chapter 42: The Weight of Satoru Gojo CONT'D
[FADE IN.]
Gojo’s body is still locked in infinite motion.
Trapped in a paradox of his own unstoppable speed.
His Six Eyes process a million possibilities, but none break the Architect’s hold.
For the first time in his life—he is at the mercy of another.
---
The Architect’s Offer
The Architect lowers his hand from Gojo’s forehead.
His expression remains calm.
THE ARCHITECT
"You understand now, don’t you?"Gojo’s teeth grit.
His body is still in perfect motion.
But his mind? Racing. This wasn’t Infinity.
This wasn’t Limitless. This was something else.
A domain without borders. A calculation beyond anything he had seen.
And the Architect was its master.
---
Gojo Smirks
But then—
Gojo laughs.
It starts as a chuckle. Then a grin.
And suddenly—he’s laughing like a madman.
GOJO
"Man... you’re REALLY something, huh?"His Six Eyes glow, analyzing everything once again.
"Let me guess—this isn’t even your final move, is it?"
The Architect gives the slightest nod.
THE ARCHITECT
"Correct."Gojo’s grin widens.
GOJO
"Then show me. Show me what’s next."---
The Architect’s Final Test
The Architect’s fingers snap.
And then—
Gojo’s paradox unravels.
In an instant, he is free.
His speed returns, his movements restored—as if nothing happened.
Gojo lands on the ground.
His body is tense. Prepared.
But the Architect does not attack.
Instead, he waits.
THE ARCHITECT
"I wanted to see something."Gojo raises an eyebrow.
THE ARCHITECT
"Even when you were trapped—you didn’t break. You still searched for an answer."A pause.
The Architect’s expression is unreadable.
Then—
He turns away.
THE ARCHITECT
"That is why I’m giving you the chance."GOJO
"…Chance?"The Architect glances back.
THE ARCHITECT
"A chance to learn. To evolve. To become something even greater than what you are now."Gojo’s grin fades.
This wasn’t mockery.
This was real.
A genuine offer.
---
Gojo’s Decision
For a moment, Gojo is silent.
Then—he exhales.
His usual cocky smirk returns.
GOJO
"…Tch. So I lost, huh?"The Architect doesn’t answer.
Gojo cracks his neck.
Then—he grins wider.
GOJO
"Fine. Teach me."His eyes glow brighter.
"But don’t expect me to lose next time."
The Architect gives a small nod.
THE ARCHITECT
"Good. Then let’s begin."---
