Invisible Strings

Jayjay's POV

The date with Keifer was fabulous but meeting Cyrus after this long made me remember that horrible day when I was fourteen, still in Grade School and Cyrus, he was still my best friend.

*Flashback*

I was walking home from school with Cyrus, my best friend. We were laughing and joking around, having a great time. But then, we stumbled upon a group of boys from a rival school, and things took a turn. I've fought them before as they were making snide comments about Aries, calling him a coward who hides behind his brother.

They started taunting me, making snide comments and pushing me around. One of them even punched my jaw. Cyrus stood up for me, and we got into a fight. I was holding my own, but then one of the boys hit me, and I felt a surge of adrenaline.

That's when I saw it - blood dripping from my lip, staining my shirt. And suddenly, something inside me snapped.

Everything went dark, and the next thing I knew, someone's arms were wrapped around me.

Aries.

I looked around and saw Percy and Yuri helping Cyrus stand up. He was puking blood and his face was bruised.

Did I do this? I looked at my hands, my fists were covered in blood.

I saw the fear in his eyes.

What had I done. I don't know but I started crying.

"What did I do Aries?" I asked him while still sobbing in his arms.

"When we got here, we saw you attacking Cyrus. We tried to stop you but you didn't listen. You kept on saying 'Don't hurt me, don't hurt me'." Aries replied but honestly I didn't get.

What the hell happened when I saw blood.

*Flashback End*

That was the last time I saw Cyrus. After that I did the same to Ram and I know that everytime I see blood, something inside me flinch.

I was walking to school and since I didn't have my breakfast. The weather was honestly awesome. It was drizzling and I know there'll be heavy rain today.

I stopped at the minimart to buy something, that's when I saw Canvas 2. She was sitting on the bench which was on the other side of the road and she was looking...lost.

I hadn't seen her in months. Though she wasn't my friend or something but I could clearly see that she was crying. I went towards her and she looked a bit different - her hair was longer, and her skin glowed with a new radiance.

"Hey Canvas, I mean your name...sorry I forgot...everything's okay? Why are you crying?" I asked her but she didn't even look at me.

She sighed a few times and finally spoke.

"Grace....it's Grace and I'm not crying Jay. Don't meddle."

I'm not her friend but I can't see someone cry but I think she needs to be alone at this point. I think I should leave her alone. I was about to leave when she suddenly hugged me and I don't know why I hugged her back.

I could sense there was something on her mind, something she wanted to share.

Finally, she took a deep breath and blurted it out. "Jay, I'm pregnant."

My eyes widened in surprise. "Huhhh!!! You told your parents?" I said, trying to sound enthusiastic.

But Grace's expression was hesitant. "Jay my parents died a few years back and I've no one in my family. My boyfriend, Denzel...he's not ready for this. He's not ready to be a dad."
