Invisible Strings

Keifer's POV

It's been approx two months since I've seen her and I miss her like hell. My cousins are making my life hell here and I just..I just need her to hold me.

Tomorrow is my birthday, my 18th birthday, I could finally claim my inheritance but I can't go home, not yet. I need to fix a lot of things before leaving.

I was staring at the ceiling when my phone rang, it was her.

Love calling....

I quickly picked it up. ["Hello, Keifer it's 11:58 here in the Philippines. You're about to turn 18 love."]

"Jay, I'm missing you so damn much."

["I miss you...I miss you more, Keifer. Please come back soon."]

"I'll try to come back as soon as possible Jay."

["Happy birthday Keifer. I love you so much. I love you more than anything."]

"Thank you so much love. I'm so happy that you're the first person to wish me. I love you Jay."

["Ohh my God!! Don't be sentimental now. Get ready you need to go to the party remember?"]

"My love, there are approx 7hrs left for my birthday here."

["Nevermind. I'm very sleepy. Goodnight Keifer. I love you."]

"I love you Jay until scientists find the end of the Universe. Goodnight. Love you. Take care." I heard her chuckle from the other side. She finally disconnected the call.

I don't know but I can't take it anymore. I can't stay away from her anymore.

*Timeskip (About 15 days later)

The finals are starting this week only and I'm still here in London.

I was on a video call with Jay and she was being chaotic as always. Classic Jay.

["Come on Keifer, when will you even study."]

"Babe you must have forgotten but I'm smart unlike someone I know." I just love teasing her.

[" Ohh!! Shutup. Don't waste my time. I'm going to study. Get your ass here before the finals you jerk."]

"No no no....don't disconnect. Study with me on this call."

["I can't. Aries is going to tutor me. He'd get mad. I'm going now. Bye. I love you."]

"I love you more than anything and anyone else Jay." She finally disconnected the call.

I'm planning to leave tomorrow. Keigan and Keiren are already in the Philippines with Honey. I just hope she takes good care of them instead of flirting with Felix.

Btw are they in a relationship now?

Fuckk. I don't care. I need to focus on work.

Jay's POV

I slumped over my desk, my head spinning with formulas and theorems. Exam week was a never-ending nightmare, and I was running on fumes. My brain felt like it was stuffed with cotton wool, refusing to absorb anything new. I rubbed my tired eyes, wincing at the sting of fatigue.

As I reached for my coffee cup, my heart sank when I realized it was empty. Again. I let out a frustrated sigh and pushed back from the desk, stumbling to the kitchen to brew another pot.

As I waited for the coffee to drip, I snatched my phone off the counter and checked for messages. My heart skipped a beat when I saw a text from Keifer. My boyfriend, currently stuck in London for work, always knew how to brighten up my day.

From: Loml🎀: Hey Coffee-fueled zombie. Don't forget to take rest. Missing you so much. Can't wait to see you.

As I thought about the his text, I felt a pang of longing in my heart. Keifer would attend college in London only and me, I'd be here in Manila.

We'd be away. How would I even survive without his stupid jokes, his cheesy pick up lines, his unflinching ability to flirt and most importantly him.

"Jay, lost in the thoughts of your loving boyfriend?" Aries teased me and brought me back to reality.

"Shutup you Jealous Horoscope."

"I'm your Kuya. Don't be disrespectful." He said and I stuck out my tongue.

Aries shook his head, "Jay, just focus on your exams. He'd be back soon." He left the room without saying anything.

His breakup with Ella affected him too much. She apologized to him quite a few times but he didn't forgive her.

I just wish Aries also finds someone who would make him feel loved. Who loves her more than anything in this world.

Fuckkk.... I need to study.

Exam week

Today is my first exam and honestly I'm scared as hell.

Keifer came back tomorrow. He wanted to meet me but I denied. It's not like I didn't want to but I just wanted him to take rest. It's exam week, I don't wanna burden him and make him ruin his exams.

I had a cup of coffee and left for school, I was revising the formulas in my head, the whole damn way. It took me 18 mins to reach the school. I came here earlier so that I could revise properly.

I was about to enter Section E building when someone grabbed me by wrist and dragged me to the backside of the building.

I didn't need to confirm who it was.

Obviously Keifer.

He pinned me against the wall and even before I could say something, he wrapped his arms around me, one hand on the waist and other one on the neck. I hugged him back.

"I've missed you. I made thousands of scenarios in my mind, what would I do when I'll finally see you. But now you're in front me and I...I can't help it Jay. I wanna cry." He said and faced me. He was about to cry.

"I missed you too. " I grabbed him by his collar and kissed him like he belonged....belonged to me. The kiss was intense and we just didn't let each other go, one kiss was followed by another then another and another until both of us were breathless.

"I love you Jay." He said in between the kisses. We finally let each other and hugged again.

"Best of luck for the exam love."

"You too Keifer. I love you so much."
