"Enzo, please..." You looked at the British vampire, who had -once again- messed up in his attempts to do what he thought was right.
"You don't need to do this. There must be another way?"

He looked up, shaking his head, a sad look in his eyes.
"No, Y/N, there is not. I've tried it the nice way. I've tried to keep out of the way in the hope that I would be accepted that way. This, using force to get what I want, is all that people understand! I need to make someone see, or they'll overlook me." He cocked his head. "Don't tell me they're treating you anything better, darling... because you know you would be lying to yourself."

You sighed. You didn't agree with him, not with his methods. But somehow, you could see where he was coming from. He had tried to cooperate, only to see his loyalty questioned, time and time again. He tried to choose sides, just so he could belong somewhere, only to be thrown out again the moment they didn't need him anymore.
"Maybe you're right. But that doesn't mean I'm betraying my friends to get their attention." You were still mad about what he had done to Damon, to Bonnie, to Tyler. They didn't deserve it.
"And I never questioned you. Well, not until you started to act like a madman."

He stopped with what he was doing, looking up at you with this big brown eyes that could make you melt with one look. Not recently, as all he radiated was anger, but earlier, when you met him. And maybe that was what he showed now as well.
"No. Not you." He just stood there, looking, and it almost became awkward, until he spoke on.
"I never say I know all there is to know, darling. I don't. I've spent seventy years all by myself, and I'm just used to being around people again. So who can expect me to always do what I'm supposed to do? I guess... sometimes I just push you away because I need you to pull me closer."

You didn't say anything. As crazy as it sounded, it did make sense, somehow.

He even seemed nervous, after what he had said.
"Talk to me, Y/N. Please?"

You nodded.
"You don't need to push me away, Enzo. I'm here. But that doesn't mean that I won't get angry if you do something stupid ok? I can promise I'm not going to leave you..."
