"What are you doing here?" Chris stood in the door opening of Allisons room, clearly surprised to see you here. Which... he had pretty good reason to, because he hadn't been the one to let you in.
You looked up at the man, who looked as if he barely managed to keep himself together. Then again, you probably didn't look any better.
"I just miss her. Somehow it feels like she's still here when I'm..." You suddenly realized how awkward this was. You didn't have any reason to be here anymore, with Allison gone. No matter how much you liked Chris, you were the friend of his daughter, not someone he would want around.
He offered you his hand to help you up.
"Come on, Y/N. I get how you're feeling, really... but dwelling on who she has been won't bring her back." He might say it, but there had been a reason he hadn't cleaned up her room yet. It looked like she could come back from school any minute, resuming the life she still should have lead, if nothing would have happened.
"Let me get you something...", he said after he had lead you to the living room, but somehow you refused to let go of his hand.
"Don't leave me alone? Please?" You couldn't believe you were asking that to the man, but you didn't think you could bear him leaving you right now. He was the last bit that was left of Allison.
He seemed to understand what you meant, because he sat down next to you, putting an arm around you, and allowing you to rest your head on his chest.
You had no idea how long you had sat like this, but suddenly things changed. Hands started to move, mouths found other mouths, clothes got discarded. You had had sex before, but not like this, not this frantic, not this... desperate, as if both of you needed someone to cling on to. It didn't even last that long, but when it was over, he dressed himself and left the apartment, leaving you there.
You didn't know how long you were lying there, but a growl woke you up, and you were surprised to see a wolf you didn't know threatening you. You were barely awake, didn't know what to do. And even if you had Allison's crossbow, you wouldn't know what to do with it... You just closed your eyes, so you wouldn't see the end coming when you heard a few shots, and when you dared to look again, you saw Chris standing in the door opening, gun still in hand, eyes focused on you.
Eyes where there was only shock.
"I'm sorry, Y/N..." He walked over you, cupping your head with his hand, looking over you to see if you were hurt.
"I should never have left you. I... just didn't know what to do. I thought I did something incredibly stupid..."
You put your finger over his mouth to shut him up.
"I don't know if it was stupid we did. I do know it was something I needed, and you as well. Can it be wrong then?"
He shook his head.
"I think I love you, Y/N. Why don't we try to get through this whole mess together?"
