Could it be?

I was scared. Scared beyond belief.  Mother has said how I 'Will find the perfect prince' or 'don't worry Ali ( pronounced Ally) he is out there somewhere' 

But what if that so called "Prince" just so happened to be a princess? Would mother allow me to be dating a girl?  Stop it Allison! You just met her! Stop thinking about dating her!   I was so stuck in my own head that I didn't realized what Sage had said. Ahh my sweet sweet Sage. Stop it! I yelled at myself mentally. 

"I'm dearly sorry Sage I was lost in my thoughts." About you. " Can you please repeat what you said?"
"It was nothing.  Although, may I ask what I am going to do while I'm here?"

"Oh yes. Well since I am bound to become queen. Mother has made me make life changing decisions. So mine was any homeless person we find we take in, We nurture them back into health and then we help them out. We either give them a job in the palace or with a more common job. Once they get a job they will earn money along with support from us, and soon enough they are living a happy life. Most live in apartments."

"Wow you really do care about us don't you?"

"What do you mean by 'us'"

"Us homeless."

" Why of course I do! Why wouldn't I? Were all people and we should all be treated equally. Even though I can't help people being treated equally, I can give people a better life."

"That sounds so nice. But,uh, what will I do while I'm here?"

"Well most people we bring in stay in the infirmary, because most are injured  when we bring them in. However when the people aren't as badly injured, we let them chose what to do. Some work as a maid while others guards. You are not as badly hurt as others so you can chose what you like to do. You don't have to do anything if you like you can just stay in your room all day we have things for you to do in there."

"Wow that's a lot to take in. I think I will just stay in my room for a while,and when I'm ready to do other things I will tell you."

"Sounds like a plan." I smiled at her " Would you like me to give you a tour?"

"If its ok with you Your Highness."

"Please, just call me Allison."

"Sure thing Ali"

I smiled at her new nickname for me. Sure other people used it too, but she has never heard me called that before. I cant help but love the way my name sounds in her mouth. How well it rolls off her tongue. "Well I'm free for the rest of today not including dinner, you will join me for it right?"

"Is that ok for me to do? I thought I would just eat in my room or in a special place for others. Like a break room for the maids or someplace."

"Well I'm sure mother will allow me to bring along you. I will just tell her that you're new here and a bit nervous so you are to follow me."

"So you don't normally invite others to dinner with you?"

"Nope.  Anyway aside from that I can show you around."

"Ok when?"

"Now!"
