~Weeks later~ ~Sages party~

~Allison~

I was so nervous. Today was Sages 18th birthday party, also the day I'm going to propose. I have her rings in my clutch. But with the time being, I needed to just relax.

We decorated the ballroom with blue and gold. Sages favorite colors. Streamers hanging from the ceiling, balloons laying all around on the ground. The only people there were my family all the maids and most the guards.

Quite a few people but it was worth it, We had the kitchen staff make a cake with 4 layers, in ombre blue with gold accents all over it. Everyone was in the room accept me and Sage. I was helping her get ready. She knew there was a party for her, so it wasn't a surprise. But she said she wanted to look her best.

We dressed matching because Sage said it would be cute.

I had to agree, we did look cute. She made a good call. We made our way to the ball room, walking hand in hand. As we walked in the door I watched as everyone yelled happy birthday and Sage smiled wide.

We walked over to the where my parents sat.

"Good evening girls! Enjoying the party?" Mom asked pulling us over giving both of us a hug and kiss on the cheek. I nodded, Sage, on the other hand. . .

"Oh yeah! This is amazing! First party I've ever had, so I can't compare it to any others but it's amazing. I don't think anything could top it." She laughed along with my parents.

I was a nervous wreck. I need to calm down, Sage would for sure say yes. Mom said it herself. Sage-- Sage said it herself! Reminding myself that she had already said yes calmed me down a bit.

"I'm going to get a drink. Want anything?" I asked looking down at Sage. She nodded then turned back to her conversation about gossip with the maids again with my father.

"I'll go with you" My mom piped up. Neither Sage nor my father really caring, both in deep conversation. I laughed at them. Slowly turning and walking over to the drink table. After getting there my mom spoke.

"Ali. Calm down. You know everything will be fine." I nodded and breathed out slowly.

"I know, but I'm still nervous."

"That's normal honey. I remember stories your father told me on how nervous he was before he proposed to me" she laughed. "Not long from now. You'll be able to share your stories like that." I nodded slowly letting the stress roll off my back,

I got a cup and filled it with the punch. Looking back at mom she smiled and nodded for me to go. I walked back over to the table handing Sage her drink. Watching her and my father, how well they talked, like they've known each other forever. Meanwhile I watched as mom walked up to the sound booth asking the man something.

After the song finished, a new one came on. Of course it was a slow dance song. That's probably why my mother was up there. Well, better take my chance while I have it. I stood from the table holding my hand out towards Sage.

She gave me a questionable look before I could say anything. "May I have this dance Sage?" Once I said that her face filled with realization. She nodded shyly and grabbed onto my hand, I moved her to the dance floor. Watching as it filled with other people. My parents, maids and guards who were rumored to be together, actual couples we knew about.

We danced throughout the whole song whispering sweet things into each other's ears. As the song came close to the end a maid walked up handing me a microphone. Sage looked at me weirdly, but I just smirked at her. Slowly everyone left the dance floor. I know mother had told them to do this.

I dropped down to one knee the best I could in my dress. You couldn't really see it but that didn't matter. I watched as Sages hands flew to her mouth, her eyes starting to tear up. Good thing I convinced her to wear waterproof makeup.

"Sage, my precious jewel. I have known you for quite some time now. Ever since the day you first stepped foot in this palace, I knew you were special. We know almost everything about each other. The things you don't know yet, we will soon tell. I could tell you one thing right now. When you had to sleep in my room because there were no extra rooms, there was a free room after you had already spent, about a week with me, I said all the rooms were full so you would still stay with me." I laughed " Silly reason, but I'm glad I did it in the long run. You have so many great things about you. The cute way you snore softly, the way you walk swaying your hips. Walking on the ball of your feet when you're barefoot. How you tap your foot when you're nervous. And so, so much more. If I were to list them all, we would be in here by the time were all dead." The crowd around us laughed. " So, Sage Jewel, soon to hopefully be Pendelton. Will you do me the honors of becoming my wife?" I held out the box with her ring in it.

I watched as Sage got down on one knee also pulling out a box of her own. She laughed as she opened the box reliving another ring.

"Only if you do me the honors of becoming my wife also" I gasped.

"You stole my thunder!" I whined playfully. She smiled. "Yes or no Allison"

"Yes!"

We laughed and slid the rings on each others fingers smiling. We rose up off the floor hugging and kissing each other as the crowd behind us roared.
