(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Why do you think Caeus was there at Snowpeak?" Midna asked as she floated right beside me. We had finished battling off Link's minions and were out to look for more to protect Hyrule as much as we could.

"Beats me, Midna. I honestly have no clue. Perhaps Link sent him there or something?"

The little figure floated in front of my face, with a look of inquisition. "I don't think that would be the case, (Y/N). He seemed to be a little off guard when we saw him. Maybe he's up to something."

I sped walked past her so I could see the sights in front of me. Midna was probably just being skeptical and cynical and just assuming things. I highly doubt that Caeus was doing anything suspicious, and if he had actually been doing so, I'm sure it was for something important. I disregarded her comment and continued forward until we reached the little cave that led to the Zora domain. Once there, we saw Caeus, standing patiently and it seemed as if he were waiting for us since we sent him off.

"Ah, (Y/N)," he said and walked closer to us. Midna gave me an eye and I gave her an eye back.

"So one question, Caeus," I started just to clear Midna's suspicions, "What were you doing at Snowpeak?"

He didn't flinch and it seemed like he was expecting me to ask him that. He handed me some ice and poe souls.

"I did some research and apparently those might be able to help you with your powers and to possibly help defeat Link.

I examined the two things and gave Caeus a nod. "I'll take your word for it and try these out. Thank you, Caeus. Thank you really."

He nodded and had a faint smile, "Always here to help. If you'll excuse, I have some other matters to attend to."

"Of course," I said, "Go and make sure that Link doesn't get suspicious or anything."

He disappeared within a snap and a let my hands absorb the powers from the poe souls and the ice taken from the ice soldiers. I looked to Midna.

"Told you he wasn't doing anything suspicious. Let's go."

Midna yawned as a way to acknowledge I was right. We roamed through the falls of the domain, searching high and low for any of Link's minions. A sudden wave rose and several Zoras started running awry.

Midna and I shared a concerned expression and ran the opposite direction, towards the source of the ruckus.

In the middle of everything, he was there. He stood as if nothing had happened. The torn coral-like pillars just remained there. And again, he stood as if nothing happened. He stood there as if knowing I'd show up.

"Link," I said low growl. He turned slowly to meet my gaze and smiled.

"It's been long, (Y/N). I missed you."

Ignoring his last statement, I formed a scepter in my hand, preparing for anything he'd throw at me. "It's not time for you to return to Hyrule yet, Link. Go back."

I was angered by the fact that he had come back, but then my mind had finally realized... The little bag I had given Caeus to give him brought him here. He was unstable right now. Why would he possibly approach me at a state like this when he was aware I could weaken him? But I continued to play along. I wanted to test how unstable his state was at the moment.

"This place brings back memories, doesn't it, (Y/N)?" He started to walk around, and I sent Midna off so that I could deal with this personally. "This was where I saw that shadow. And that shadow was of your parents." He looked at me with those orange eyes, "You should've told me those would be my future in-laws, (Y/N)."
