Diamond In The Rough(Steven Universe various X Gem!Reader)

Chapter 2

"Yeah?"

"I... Believe I have recovered a memory of my past." I sat up and looked at her. "Tell me! Tell me!" I said, bouncing up and down in my spot. She opened her mouth to speak, just to be silenced by a pair of screams. I looked in the direction of the screaming victim, to see Lapis and Peridot running from what appeared to be a lion with bat wings and a scorpion tail.

"Master, those two gems appear to be running away from a corrupt gem in the form of a Manticore. Shall we intervene?" (Y/n) asked.

I nodded, and ran towards Lapis and Peridot, grabbing the both of them and shielding them in a bubble as the gem attacked us. I watched as (y/n) jumped out in front of us, her gem glowing. She summoned a sword, the blade almost as long as her body, and about as wide as my arm.

She struck the corrupt gem on its head, the monster growling in anger at the girl. It swiped at her with its tail, but she parried the strike. She landed in front of our bubble, looked at me, silently asking me to remove the barrier.

I lowered the bubble, and she reached out, taking my hand in hers, then she gracefully took me into her arms, laying her head on my shoulder, her hand interlocked with mine, and spun, our gems glowing and sparkling.

And then we fused.

I opened my eyes to see the manticore in front of us, and before I could panic, I felt myself grip something.

"Steven?" I heard. I looked behind me to see Peridot and Lapis in shock.

"My name is (fusionname)," I (more like (y/n)) said. I looked back at the manticore, letting (y/n) do her work, summoning two shields and two swords. I fused them together to make two chakrams. I threw the both of them at the manticore, both bladed boomerangs cutting the gem and returning to my hands.

I summoned a shield and blocked a blow from its claws, and slashed its paw. I then dashed towards its stomach, then dug both chakrams into its abdomen, poofing it. I felt myself begin to separate, and then next thing I know, in sitting on the ground next to (y/n), who is holding the gem out to me.

"The enemy has been defeated," she said. I took the gem, bubbled it, then sent it to the temple.

"STEVEN!" I heard, then next thing I know, I'm rolling around on the ground with Peridot attached to me, who is bawling her eyes out. She let go of me, then recomposed herself, looking at the new Gem. "Um, who is this?" She asked. "Oh. This is (y/n). A new gem. I grew her from an immature shard at the lighthouse," I answered.

"Ohh."
"Any idea what gem she is?" asked Lapis. I shook my head. "No. She doesn't know, either," I said. Peridot looked at the pink gem, inspecting it. "It looks very familiar. She must be a superior gem of some sort. Not a Quartz, though.... Kunzite or Spinel, maybe?" she inquired, "Or a Pink Diamond, in extreme cases..."

"Master," (y/n) started, "my recovered memory." "Oh, right. Can we go home, first?"

I sat on the sofa, (y/n) stood in front of me and the other two gems.

"Okay, (y/n), what do you remember?" I asked.

"I remember... A big fight. A war. I was a larger mass than I currently am, right now. I had an army I lead, against another gem's army. The enemy was a Quartz of some sort. I can't remember what kind. Then, all I felt was intense pain, and the feeling of falling apart, like I was shattered."

Peridot and Lapis looked at each other, then looked at her.

"Do you remember what kind of Gem you were called?" Lapis asked. "Unfortunately, I do not," (y/n) replied.

"Due to the data you gave us, I can narrow it down to a few gems. Pink Diamond, in any extreme case, a Rose Quartz, although you don't look much like one, Corundum, Star Quartz, Pink Topaz, or Pink Sapphire," Peridot said.

(Y/n) closed her eyes, as if in thought. She opened her eyes, her eyes sparkling briefly.

"None of these names trigger a memory, the only familiar one being Pink Diamond, yet my knowledge dictates that she was one of the ever superior leaders of the Homeworld. My apologies, miss Peridot," (y/n) said, bowing her head. Then we heard the Warp system activate.

"YO, STEVE-O!"
"We're back."
"Steven, we're home!"

We all turned our heads to see Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. They stopped dead in their tracks at the sight of (y/n), whose eyes widened at the sight of the three Crystal Gems.

Next thing I know, (y/n) was bound by Amethyst's whip, and she was struggling to break free. She summoned her sword and managed to cut away the whip, and parried Pearl's spear, in turn dodging a punch from Garnet.

"Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst! Why are you doing this?!"

Pearl looked at me, eyes concerned.

"Because she's Pink Diamond!"
