"She's Pink Diamond!"
I stopped, looking at the Pearl in front if me, my actions causing me to take a punch from the Garnet.
I went flying, out of the house though the front door, almost taking the door with me.
I was not Pink Diamond, my memories show no recollection of even being called Pink Diamond, only that I was a Gem of status, yet I would not think myself to actually be that high up in homeworld's class system, and yet, the fact I may actually be Pink Diamond due to the other gems' memories interlock with my memories, somehow.
According to my calculations, there is a sixty-five percent chance that I am Pink diamond, and a thirty-five percent chance that I am a different gem. I felt the soft sand beneath me, each grain embracing my body shape, and leaving an imprint of my body in the area which I laid on the said small grains. I stood up, to see the three gems in front of me.
"Guys, wait!" my Master cried, but as soon as those words were said, the Pearl took a swing at me with her spear. I summoned my sword, as a form of self defense. I parried, not wanting to hurt the others, yet I knew that if I was to get out of this fight unscathed, I had to fight, otherwise I would be shattered.
"(Y/n)!" my Master called out to me. Before I knew it, I had a Rose-colored shield in my grasp. I blocked a hit from the Garnet with the shield, and delivered a blow in return. The shield was ripped from my grasp by the Amethyst's whip. I blocked a hit from the Pearl with my sword, as she struck me a little too close to my gem.
"I do not wish to continue this combat with you," I stated, stepping out of the way of the Garnet's punch, yet I saw a stab from the Pearl coming too fast, I was unable to react. I would be shattered. I closed my eyes in anticipation, awaiting my fate...
Yet it never came.
I opened my eyes to see Master guarding me with his shield.
"I said STOP!" he shouted. The gems halted their advances, eyes on my Master's small form, and Lapis and Peridot on the porch, watching out quarrel.
"Steven, what are you doing?!" Pearl squawked. "I'm stopping you from hurting her! You say she's Pink Diamond, but she says she doesn't remember who or what she is! She remembers Pink Diamond, but she doesn't remember being called Pink Diamond! You guys just attacked her on sight, without asking if she was her or not!" my Master stated. "Steven..." the Garnet started, but was cut off by Master again. "No. I don't care what you say, if this really is Pink Diamond or not. I found her and restored her to this form, and she was nothing but nice to me."
"Master," I started. The gems stared at me and Master, eyes widened.
"'MASTER?!'"
~~~~~~~~I stood by my Master as he told them why I was calling him "Master," the blue and green gem saying their farewells and retiring to their "barn."
"Ah, I see," said the Garnet. She walked over to me. "Sorry, (y/n)," she said. I just nodded at her. "Apology accepted," I said.
"Anyways, what did you want to tell me?" my Master asked, turning to me. "Due to these Gems' memories of me being Pink Diamond, I have deducted that there is a sixty five percent chance that I may be her, and a thirty five percent I may not. I have told you my memory with Peridot and Lapis, and Peridot said that in any extreme case, I may be Pink Diamond, and due to me being marked higher-up in that memory, and since these gems seem to recall me being Pink Diamond, I have debunked that my calculations are somewhat accurate," I said.
"Well, in any 'extreme' case you may be Pink Diamond, we'll know who you really are once you regain enough of your memories. Anyways, since you have nowhere else to go, you'll stay here with us, where we could keep an eye on you," the Pearl said. I looked at my Master.
"Master, shall I do as the Pearl nagged?" I asked, and the Pearl squawked out a "what?!". My Master nodded. "Yeah, might as well," he said. I nodded in response, "Yes, Master."
I stood at the island counter, watching as Pearl prepared dinner for Master and Amethyst. She looked at me, and sighed.
"Yes, what do you want," she snapped. Ouch. So this is pain. I looked at her, inspecting her, each body proportion, and flaw.
"I would like for you to remind me about whatever terrible decision or function I had done for you to have shown such disdain and rude behavior towards me, because I cannot remember," I said. She flushed in what appeared to be anger.
"The only thing I can think of is your sassy attitude and your just being here," she replied, snark in her tone. Ouch. She has many comebacks, does she not? I tilted my head. "'Sass?' I do not recall using sass against you, Pearl," I said. She groaned in annoyance. "That's enough, I'm done talking with you. Just go get Steven and Amethyst, and tell them that the food is done," she said, turning her back towards me. Another pang of pain, but instead of replying, I turned and walked towards the stairs, scaling them, and approached the bedside behind my Master and Amethyst.
"Master, Amethyst, the food is done," I said, bowing. They paused their game, and stood up, stretching. They descended down the stairs to the island counter, taking their seats. I watched as they ate, how they smiled at each other, how they acted in each others presence.
I descended the stairs, and exited the house, the cool evening air greeting me. I looked at the sky, the stars twinkling amongst each other, like someone spilled a jar of glitter on a sheet of navy and purple fabric.
"(Y/n)," I heard. I turned to come face to face with Garnet, an indecipherable expression on her face.
"Greetings, Garnet. How may I help you?" I asked. "Why aren't you inside, keeping Steven company?"
"Humans need personal space, or so my research dictates. I do not want to test my boundaries so much that my Master feels discomfort around me, and whenever me and Pearl are within each others presence, there is an uncomfortable tension, and I do not wish to be in her presence unless need be, so that neither of us are uncomfortable. You surely understand, do you not? And you surely saw this response, as well, I presume?" I asked. She nodded. "Yes, I understand. But if there's so much tension between you and Pearl, why don't the both of you work out your differences?" she replied. I looked back at the stars. "I would like for that to happen, yet I do not feel like Pearl is up to doing so," I replied. She hummed in response.
"I see. I'll talk to her about this later. Come back inside, I brought donuts for you, Amethyst and Steven."
"But me, nor Amethyst, require to eat. I must ask, though. Why does Amethyst eat, even though it gives her no benefit?"
"Amethyst likes to eat because it makes her feel human, it gives her the benefit of feeling human. Maybe you would like the sensation of eating, as well."
"Oh.... It is understood."
