Diamond In The Rough(Steven Universe various X Gem!Reader)

Topaz picked Steven up, and entered the ship, Aquamarine smirking.

"Master!" I shouted, running past Lars and after one of the Topazes to get Master back, just to get scooped up by the other Topaz. I started struggling against her grip, trying to escape frantically, along with Lars.

She dragged us into the ship, fusing once again with the other Topaz, getting me stuck in her mid torso, Master stuck in her chest, and Lars stuck in her lower back.

I struggled to free myself from Topaz, giving up as she seated herself, somewhat crushing Lars. I sighed, looking up at Master.

"I don't suppose you have an escape plan?" I asked. He looked at me then over his shoulder. "I might.." he said, with a bit of a smirk. "Lars, help me out," Master said. Lars huffed, shifting his position in Topaz before speaking, "Why should I? Why can't you get your slave to help you out?"

"She's not a slave!"

"Well, our relationship is that of master and servant, Master."

"Y/n! You're my friend, not my slave!"

The three of us sighed, and I tried escaping from Topaz once again, failing yet again. I kicked Lars in the head, gaining his attention.

"Ow! The heck was that for?!"

"Listen to my Master, Lars."

Lars sighed, "oh, fine.. What do you want me to do?"

"Okay, Lars, take off my pants."

I looked up at Master, raising a brow.

"What?" Lars asked. "Just do it!" Master said. I felt Lars shifting a little bit, before hearing something fall on the floor.

"There, I took them off," Lars said, annoyance evident in his tone of voice. "Okay, now tie my pants into a lasso," Master said.

"What?"

"Just do it!"

"Oh, fine!"

I felt Lars shifting a little bit, presumably tying Master's pants into a lasso.

"Okay, I tied your dumb pants into a lasso.."

"Okay, now you see those rods over there? Use the lasso to try and get one of them!" Master said before Lars let out a long, drawled out sigh. I heard him grunting and shifting, knowing he wasn't even trying to get whatever it was Master wanted him to get.

"Whelp, they ain't working.." Lars muttered, before the lasso fell to the ground again. I looked up at Master who was visibly getting annoyed.

"What's wrong with you?! Don't you want to escape?!"

"What does it matter, it isn't gonna work anyways.."

"Lars, what's wrong with you?!"

I felt Lars shift and tense.

"I'm.... I'm scared, okay... I don't see how you're not scared, how you could be brave all the time, but... I'm just scared. I was scared to even go to the party with the others, for Pete's sake.."

"That time wasn't your fault, you were kidnapped by Aquamarine, remember?"

"Not after I threw out my cake, you two saw it in the dumpster."

Master sighed. I looked up at him to see him looking all worn out. He gave me a weak smile, before it fell again.

"Lars, I'm scared too," he said, "I'm scared of Homeworld. I'm scared to face whatever lies ahead for me that my mom left.. And I'm scared that they're gonna take away and brainwash y/n when they find out who she really is. I'm scared too, Lars. But I have to be brave. For the Gems. For my dad.. For my mom."

"Steven..." Lars said, trailing off. I heard someone sniffling. I looked up with Master to see it was.. Topaz? "That was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard," she said, "No one ever asks about how I feel. Or how Topaz feels. They always send us out on missions, for our strength, all the time without regard as to how Topaz or Topaz feels!"

Topaz sniffled again, getting up from the chair, unfusing and letting us free, then re-fusing, guiding us to a pod.

"I'm gonna help you escape. This is an escape pod. You can use it to send yourselves back to earth," Topaz said. Steven started helping Lars into the pod, until the familiar squeaky voice chimed on the upper level of the ship.

"Oh Topaz! Have you shifted the engine, yet? It feels like we're going slower than usual..." Aquamarine said, coming down to the lower level, pausing as she saw us attempting to escape. Her face fell, glaring at Topaz.

"Topaz, what is this?" she asked menacingly. Topaz started to sweat, stammering over her answers. "Oh, well you see, they don't deserve to be on their way to Homeworld, and they had this sorta heartwarming moment and talked about their feelings and stuff and you had to be there to understand it and..." Topaz trailed off. Lars and Master scrambled to the escape pod, just for Aquamarine to untie the bow in her hair and use her wand to fling the pod away.

Topaz dove for one of the rods that Master was talking about, a gem destabilizer, and pinned Aquamarine, threatening to poof her.

Aquamarine regained her smug composure and whispered to Topaz, who reverted back to her silent and distant self.

We reached Homeworld, and Topaz split into her separate gems, one of them taking away Master, and the other taking away Lars. I looked at Aquamarine and she shrugged.

"Well, looks like I'm stuck escorting you to your cell," she said. She waved her wand and picked me up, rendering me immobile while she strode down a long corridor.

"So, what are you? You're not a human, that's for sure. You're a gem, right? Part of what remains of the rebellion?" Aquamarine asked, glancing over at me. I nodded. "I see.. Well, you're lucky that the Diamonds will want you alive. They may interrogate you about your role, uh... What kind of gem are you?" she said. I looked at her and shrugged. "I'm a Kunzite," I lied, "but the other gems and Rose call me Y/n."

"Huh. You certainly look more like a Spinel than a Kunzite, but the minerals on earth do tend to mix and create strange off-coloured gems," Aquamarine said with a giggle. I awkwardly laughed along.

Aquamarine stopped by a weird platform. She stood on it, releasing her grip on me with her wand, and made me stand near her. The platform descended, into an alcove leading to strange white room. Aquamarine pushed me into the room, then a barrier formed between me and her.

"Sorry, Kunzite, but you'll be safe here. That is, until you're called to the stand. Make yourself comfortable. Ta-ta!" Aquamarine then ascended on the platform, leaving the alcove and my cell.

All I could do now at this moment was wait for my time in front of the Diamond Authority.
