Sebastian planned out a perfect day for the two of you. Ciel was invited to a prestigious social event where servants were not allowed and Sebastian knew you would refuse to attend a party with such rules, so he organized an evening for the two of you.

Meanwhile, you had sent your limited amount of servants on errands so you could have the estate to yourself to get work done, but that changed when you heard a knock on the door. You bounded out of your office and down the staircases until arriving in the foyer and whipping open the front door.

Before you, Sebastian stood, not in his butler uniform, but regular clothing. You were staring because, damn, you had never seen him look so good. He looked like a regular, everyday lad who was about to take his woman out on the town. You were in quite casual clothing as well, aside from the fancy attire you normally wore.

"What can I do for you, fine sir?" you asked.

"I was wondering if I may escort my Lady to a luxurious picnic this evening?" he said.

You smirked. "I don't know. I do not think I should be torn away from my work to associate with the enemy."

"The enemy, my dear?" Sebastian inquired.

"Why, of course," you responded. "Plus, I doubt my butler would approve."

Sebastian made a face of disbelief. "That clown can eat his own--"

"Okay, okay," you interrupted with a chuckle. "Lead the way."

Sebastian was quite nervous, to say the least. He had never taken anyone on a date before, let alone actually trying to win them over with it. He had researched in romance novels for ideas, and it was evident how women were dined with trips to the opera and boat rides, but you were different. You would hate those ideas and want something simple like a picnic. He hoped this was right.

Sebastian was also nervous about what to do in regards to gestures. Should he hold your hand? Offer you his arm? Kiss your cheek? Was that acceptable yet? He was lost, if he were being honest.

You could tell Sebastian wasn't quite sure how to go about the situation, so you boldly took his hand in yours as you walked across the field beyond your mansion. Sebastian flinched but relaxed when noticing it was merely your display of affection.

He also had to remind himself that he didn't need to pretend to be the perfect, pristine human he wasn't around you because you were knowledgeable about his true nature as a ruthless demon.

"What's your real name?" you asked conversationally.

Sebastian was startled by the questioned. "We, uh, don't have names. It is whatever our Masters give to us, and when a contract ends, we keep the names until the next contract."

"I asked Claude the same question and he tried to tell me he was Satan."

Sebastian snickered. "That fiend could not rival Satan if he tried. Satan would be offended if he heard such news."

"That has to be the most interesting sentence I have ever heard,'' you determined, enjoying the warmth of your mate's hand in yours.

"I could tell you stories that are far more interesting if given the opportunity," he offered.

You looked up at him briefly and he was already looking down at you. "I would love that."

The two of you walked farther through the field until entering the tree line. You had never explored this far on your property, but it was clear Sebastian had as he led you through the brush. There was a distinctive path that trailed toward an open area and you were in awe when reaching it.

The area was wide and vast but extremely private. There were flowers blooming in a circle, and in the circle, there was a red blanket with food spread over the surface. You swallowed back the lump in your throat as realization hit that Sebastian had done this for you. You were so angry at him before, but here he was, making good on his promise to try and win you over.

"All for you, darling," he whispered, gazing down at your beautiful features. He was in a trance at your reaction and thanked hell that he got this one right.

"Thank you Sebastian."

"I will do anything your heart desires and make all your wishes reality," he mumbled in return.

"Getting ahead of ourselves," you joked, releasing his hand and waking forward.

You sat on the blanket and Sebastian followed closely behind.

"Your tastebuds don't react to human food, so what's in this for you?" you questioned, curious.

"Seeing you smile."

You laughed loudly. "Stop that; it's so cheesy and weird."

"You are the first not to fall victim to my charms," Sebastian said teasingly.

"Because I have a brain," you replied in an obvious tone.

You reached out and picked up a sandwich to devour and Sebastian did the same. You were left in silence for a few minutes before you decided to strike up another conversation.

"Tell me more about you Sebastian," you commanded.

He nodded. "I grew up in hell until I was eighty years, then was sent into the human world by my father to begin working. I'm over three thousand years now and I haven't seen him since. I have been traveling and awaiting the times between contracts, meeting other demons and learning more about all three worlds--the other being heaven."

"Do you miss your father?" you asked tenderly. It surprised Sebastian how normal you could be about this when others would go completely insane.

"No, he was a cruel man," Sebastian scoffed, not making eye-contact with you. "It is a blessing that I have not had the displeasure of seeing him again."

"I'm sorry," you apologized, laying a hand on his arm.

"It's fine, truly," Sebastian assured, laying his hand over yours.

"Have you been lonely?"

He sighed. "I never thought I was, but it turns out to be a lie because since meeting you, loneliness has been my equal, and I realized that I have always been on my own. Demons do not have companions or friends besides their mates or children."

"That's the worst fate of all," you mumbled. "Is that just part of your species?"

"It is the price we pay for being what we are," he answered, "but those who become demons as they were once humans have it worse. They do not have mates nor do they get to leave hell."

"What about a demon turning a human?" you pondered.

"They would become attached as maker and product, unless they are mates, then they would remain as equals."

"Sebastian," you said hesitantly, fearing the reply, "do you only want me to cure your loneliness and turn me into a demon, or do you actually want me?"

Sebastian laid a bare hand on your cheek and leaned his face close to yours to emphasize what he was going to say.

"I have never wanted another the way I want you (Y/N). I mean that, with every ounce of my being, I sincerely mean that. I have never longed or chased after someone the way I have with you and I will not stop until I have you, as long as you want me too."

You were speechless and didn't register what you were doing until your lips connected with his and your destiny was sealed before your eyes.
