I rolled over with a groan.
I tried to searched for my phone with my eyes closed.
I was way to tired to put the effort in.
Brian really wore me out last night.
"Brian can you please grab my phone for me?" I grumbled.
I didnt get a response.
I finally opened my eyes and looked around.
Surprise, surprise, Brian wasn't there.
It stung so badly.
Even after all the times this has happened, it felt like the first time.
I pulled the tears back in as I grabbed my phone.
"Hello?" I said, laying back down.
"Why didn't you tell me you went on a date last night?!" Lia yelled down the phone.
"Geez Lia. Still half asleep here. No need to yell in my ear." I said.
"Get out of bed bitch! I'm outside, come and open the door." She said, hanging up.
I groaned again when I heard my doorbell go off.
"Goddamn it Lia!" I yelled, throwing my blanket off.
I put on a big shirt and ran to the door, slamming it open.
"Geez, someone isn't a happy camper." Lia said with a laugh.
I flipped her off and went back to my bed.
"Is that an invitation, babe." Lia said with a laugh.
I rolled back into my blanket and buried my face into my pillow.
I could smell Brian's cologne on my pillow and instead of making me smile, it made me want to cry.
It just reminded me that he was here, and that he left me yet again.
"Smells like sex in here." Lia said, laying down next to me.
"Yeah, that kinda happens when you have sex in bed." I said.
"So Brian was here last night?" Lia asked.
I didn't answer her for a minute.
"I thought you went on a date last night." Lia said, confused.
"It wasn't really a date. I went out with an old friend. We were just catching up." I explained.
"So after, you slept with Brian." She said.
"It wasn't supposed to happen that way. I came home and Brian was here. I have no idea how he got in. He was acting so strange." I said, remembering last night.
"Strange how?" Lia asked.
"He was jealous. He asked my why I was so happy after my date with Luke. Asked me if Luke was better than him. It was all just weird." I said with a sigh.
"Brian was jealous? That is strange." She said.
I nodded in agreement.
"Do you think, maybe, he might feel the same way you feel about him?" Lia asked softly.
"Lia, don't start." I sighed.
"I'm being serious, Evey. The only one that's scared of Brian not feeling the same is you. I honestly think he likes you." She said.
"Lia stop." I said.
"Nope. I'm your best friend. I'm always gonna tell you the truth. Even if you dont want to hear it." Lia said.
"Speaking of unwanted truths. What's up with you and my dearest brother?" I said, with a smile.
Lia looked down and I knew she was hiding something from me.
"Lia? What happened?" I asked.
"Umm, well, you know I was gonna tell you. But I didn't, you know, have a chance. I didn't know how you would react." Lia stuttered.
"Stop stuttering and spit it out." I said, wanting to know now.
"Me and Jimmy slept together." Lia said quickly, jumping off my bed and out of my room.
"What?!" I yelled, jumping out of bed.
I threw some shorts on and ran to my kitchen to see Lia chugging a beer.
"Are you crazy!?" I yelled, snatching the beer out of her hand.
Lia had a serious surgery five years ago and one of her kidneys was removed.
She's not supposed to drink.
"I love him, Eva." Lia cried, turning away from me.
My mouth dropped.
"Honey, why didn't you tell me?" I asked, wrapping my arms around her.
"Because I'm scared." Lia cried.
"Why sweetie?" I asked, turning her to face me.
"Because he loves me too." She said, burying her face in my neck.
I held her tightly, not knowing what to say.
So I didn't say a word, just held her.
