She hadn't returned to her room by the time I got back from running some errands with Roy. The Black Mask is on the move. Bruce had given me the information I needed to cut him short but I didn't have it in me to do it tonight. I had told Roy that we were letting him go because I wanted to see how far he could reach. He probably knew I was full of shit. I just didn't want to be out there tonight.

"Tim, shut up," her voice met my ears before her laughter made me smile.

"I'm serious. How do you stand to be around him all day? What do you guys even talk about?"

"We don't always talk. Jay, is just there you know? Kind of like Bruce. You can't ignore his presence. B, back me up,"

"Jason is a bit hard to ignore," Bruce admitted.

"He's really smart too. He helped me out in chemistry, Monday. I dozed off and lost my place. I think he likes listening to the lectures,"

"He liked when I read for him when he was younger," Bruce confirmed.

"So, he's not rude to you?"

"Of course he is. Jay- he just- I think he's afraid to feel and when things start getting emotional he acts out. You have to have patience with him. What little I know is really something,"

"Says the girl who thinks Damian the Demon is cute," she laughed.

"I will hurt you if you call him that again and yes he is cute. He's a nearly fifteen-year-old boy who wants to mimic in the footsteps of his father. The kid is convinced that he's just as good if not better. It's super cute,"

"I thought you hated Jason," Tim said. That made my chest clench. Had she hated me?

"He pissed me off. Hate is a really strong word. If I ever use it to describe someone know that I've given into something dark inside of me,"

"Eavesdropping, sir," I jumped grabbing Alfred and had to take a deep breath before letting go.

"You scared the hell out of me," I whispered angrily.

"Pardon me, sir. It wasn't my intention. You shouldn't listen in on private conversations. You might hear something you don't like,"

"So why are you whispering?" I asked. He put his fingers to his lips but it got awfully quiet.

"You guys think you're sneaky," we both jumped at the sound of her voice. "Were you guys trying to scare us?"

"That is exactly what our purpose was. Right sir?" Alfred quickly glanced at me.

"That's right. You caught us," I interjected. I had to look away from her gaze. I felt my face flare up in shame with being caught.

"Are you blushing, Jason?" she asked.

"No," I was quick to deny. "I don't blush,"

"Aww, that's adorable," she beamed.

"I think it is time for the three you to come up and get some dinner and go to bed. Miss Ilya you have class early in the morning. It's a little past midnight,"

"We're done, Alfred. I was actually waiting for you to come down so I can introduce you and Bruce to your new friend. He just got back,"

"Friend?" they both asked. She nodded taking Alfred's hand and pulling him towards the computer.

"Alright, completely changed everything about this dinosaur. It was Tim's idea. The servers will function better than ever since they now run on water and the energy from solar panels out in the field,"
