Magic Can't Hide Everything

—present day—
"So, what do you want to do?" Beast Boy asked.

I put down the video game console and pondered for a while. What I really wanted to do now was to meditate, but I'm still disguised as  Terra. What would Terra do?

"Hm...let's head over to the arcade!" I still wasn't used to how my new "voice" sounded.

"Okie dokie!" Beast Boy gave a quick grin in my  direction. "How about we play the.... Ninjas in the Night game? Just like last time!"

"Oh yeah, sure!" Darn. I don't know how to play that game.

"And this time, I WILL BEAT YOU!" The green teammate next to me laughed evilly and even rubbed his hands together for dramatic effect.

Things just got a whole lot complicated. I guess I'll just have to let him win.

"Yeah, yeah, sure," I sarcastically said as I rolled my eyes and smirked.

"Woah there....ya sounded a bit like Raven for a moment! Tell me, is she rubbing off of ya?" Beast Boy eyed me carefully in a joking manner.

I mentally smacked myself as I realized that I slipped up and made a mistake. "What do you mean? I'm always like this," I playfully shoved him, just to convince him.

"Haha, okay. It's not like Raven would ever shove me anyway," He poked his tongue out. "Come on! Are we going or what?"

We walked over there, even though I could've teleported us. Then again, that would ruin the whole plan. On the way, Beast Boy and I made small talk. Yet it was about everything, such as what is our favorite color, if ice cream or cookies are better, our favorite type of music.

We stopped right in front of a huge building that was painted black with blue lightning to give off the impression of electricity. We walked through the door and immediately saw all kinds of games. There was the classic Pac-Man, shooting games, Just Dance (I would rather die than admit this to anyone, but Just Dance is my favorite game to play.)

"Yo, Terra! I challenge you," Beast Boy shouted and jumped into a ninja attack pose, "to a mighty duel of the magnificent Ninjas in the Night! The one who wins shall be granted a crown and the title of honor!"

"And I, the Mighty Ra-," I scrambled to cover my mistake, "Terra, ACCEPTS!"

We headed towards the machine for Ninjas in the Night. It's basically a shooting game from what I could read on the instruments. While we set up our usernames, I asked him. "So where did you get all of those fancy words?" I teased.

"Well duh. It's obviously from heavy reading," He rolled his eyes.

"Oh really? Heavy reading of...?" I trailed off.

"Of those super fancy books that Raven reads!I started reading those ever since she mocked me for my lack of vocabulary. " He defended.

Wait. What? He read them and learned new words...only because I insulted him? I couldn't tell if this feeling that was bubbling in my stomach was guilt or something else.

I really wanted to say sorry, but why would Terra say sorry? Hmm... "Nice. I'd always assumed that you got them from reading comic books about Medieval Times." I turned to face the screen again.

He scoffed jokingly and looked at the screen. "You people need to expect more of me."

I bit back my insult and instead said, "Well, looks like the game is finished loading. Let's go!"
