"Haha!" Beast Boy laughed victoriously as he pumped a fist in the air. "I won!"I pretended to look sad and defeated. "Darn! I thought I would've beat you!" Which technically was a lie. It took me a while to get hang of the game.
"Well, you didn't! Come on, let's go out for some food. I'm starving!" He grabbed my hand, something he never did before, and pulled me out.
I gently laughed. "The real question is, who's paying?"
"I am. Duh. I may not seem like it, but I am a gentleman," he said.
"Right. A gentleman," I rolled my eyes.
He then told me that he wanted to go to an ice cream shop. We walked over there taking our time as he pointed out some of the places. "You see that tea store over there? That's Raven's favorite tea store. They sell tea and candles over there, but the best part is that they sell video games."
I was a bit surprised that he payed attention to that, but I didn't show it. "That's cool. Maybe we should go over there sometime."
"Yeah, maybe. Normally I would've asked Raven to get video games from there, but as you know, she mainly spends her time at her room or library reading. It's really scary to disturb her while she's reading," He shivered. "She's super scary."
I smiled and laughed a little bit at that, hiding the fact I was inwardly wincing at how he called me scary.
——At the ice cream shop that was filled with many flavors, I immediately chose green tea, making Beast Boy question my taste. Hey, just because I'm in disguise doesn't mean that I'm going to refuse what my stomach wants. He picked out some kind of vegetarian flavor that I didn't catch.
We sat in a table by the window, enjoying our treats in silence. We looked out and just observed people walking by, which I suppose was unusual for Beast Boy to be so quiet. It was only when he spoke up that I realized why he was so quiet.
"Hey, Terra?"
"Yeah?" I pulled my gaze from the window to look at him.
"Remember when we were hanging out and we almost...kissed? Right before Slade barged in?" He looked nervous and was smiling bashfully.
Hold up. They did what? I scrunched my face, deep in thought. Wait, if they almost....does that mean that they're....dating? This makes things a whole lot complicated. It didn't help that the fact that my emotions were out of control right now. I just can't pinpoint which emotion was taking over though. It must've been a negative one, seeing as how the table behind Beast Boy started rattling with dark magic.
He must've seen the confusion that I was feeling and immediately started talking. "Uh, I mean like, I was just wondering if we still felt that way, since ya know, we kinda had a fun time and all, but when he interrupted us, we never exactly got to say what was in our minds. So how exactly do you feel, oops sorry, that sounded rude. So what exactly, um, never mind." He ducked his head. "Sorry."
I did what I thought Terra would've done. I smiled assuringly. "It's alright, Beast Boy." He looked up at me with hopeful eyes. Oh no, what do I do now? This is getting way to out of control.
"So does that mean that you'll....?" He trailed off.
I could definitely see where this is going. If I say no, I don't know what I'll do. He might lock himself up again or something. Who knows? If I say yes, that might make him happy, but it's technically not right! What'll happen if he finds out it's the "Scary Girl?"
"Only if you..." I also trailed off, trying to escape this situation.
"Yeah," His ears turned a different color. "I'd like to."
"Well then," I said. "I..."
He's practically looking at me with shining, hopeful eyes. That made my decision.
"I'd love to."
