——I casted one of my best spells: The Thirteen Ravens.
Out from my heart came thirteen dark, purple shining ravens. My eyes were glowing white, showing my magical strength.
The birds circled around me, cawing for an order. I whispered to them in the Azarath tongue, telling them to defeat Cinderblock, but to not kill him in any circumstances.
Their eyes glinted a dark purple, then took off towards Cinderblock. They beat their wings faster and faster until they were a blur. They then flew straight into Cinderblock's body, using portals to go inside. Soon, they were out of my sight.
The magic was clearly working, since not a second later, Cinderblock dropped all of the cars and gripped his head in pain. He started walking around blindly, groaning and clutching his head even more.
It wasn't long before he started roaring in pain. He dropped to his knees, causing the road to be crushed and send cars flying everywhere. He cried, "Make it stop! Make it stop!"
He gave one final roar before dissolving into dark magic.
My mind felt a little calmer have one problem solved. One problem down, one more to go.
I sighed. I took a deep breath, and took my time exhaling before facing my friends.
Inwardly, I winced at my teammates' expressions. Robin had the look that he knew he was right all along. Starfire was frozen in confusion, yet her eyes were brimming with tears.
Beast Boy's expression... I felt a pang in my chest. Betrayal. Distrust. Sadness. All of those emotions were clearly displayed on his face. I looked away.
I allowed my face to show two emotions: Guilt and sorrow.
"C'mon y'all," Cyborg broke the silence. He was frowning. "Let's go home.
— —The ride to home was quiet. We all sat in the T-Car, avoiding direct eye contact.
However, when we reached the living room, Robin spun around and faced me. "What on earth just happened over there?"
I opened my mouth to answer calmly.
"I...don't know..."
I should've known that sentence was bound to cause chaos.
"What do you mean you don't know?" Robin shouted.
Starfire's eyes were puffy. "Raven, what happened to Terra?"
"Oh boy..." Cyborg shook his head.
Robin continued to shout out questions and demanding answers, as Starfire broke down. Cyborg was stressing out; he was fidgeting around and pacing.
The noise got louder and louder. The intensifying pain in my head grew. I put my hands over my ears, trying to block out the noise.
It didn't work.
"I'm sorry, okay? I dressed up as Terra!" I whispered-yelled. I'm pretty sure I heard light bulbs breaking.
Somehow, that little whisper caught everyone's attention and made them quiet down.
I put my hands on my face, trying to get control of my emotions. My teammates watched me silently, unsure of what to say. Nor did they say anything about the vases shattering.
"Why didn't you tell us, Raven?"
I looked up. Beast Boy spoke for the first time since the battle. But his face told the whole story. The whole story of heartbreak.
I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out.
"Well then. I think it'd be better if we all got a good night's rest." Robin sighed.
The whole team and I nodded as we took our leave.
What had I just done?
