Pulling My Strings 〆『Law x Reader』

       "Nami told me that you met the leader of the underground organization." Robin said over the clanking of forks and plates. The room quieted down as she said it, save for Luffy's chewing.

      We were all sitting at the dining table as Sanji served us an elegant mackerel dish. The second a dish was finished another one was put onto the table. Luffy was grateful for that, but I know he'll be hungry again in a few hours.

Setting down my fork and swallowing my food I nodded at Robin. "Yes. Nami had told me that they didn't know the people behind the auction, so I informed her." I started saying.

"There were two hosts, or at least that's what I could figure out. A boy and his mother. Lady Yoon seemed to have more authority than her son, Kal. They both were definitely in charge for the auction, or at least for that night. They might not be the only people involved on the island." I said.

     The stinging feeling of when I was branded resurfaced in my mind. "They both were able to escape the auction unharmed. I'm sure others were able to as well. And I can say with confidence that they have already informed the main provider of the black market, there's no doubt." I finished with a sigh, my appetite suddenly gone.

      "We'll need to lay low when going out to islands." Zoro said, stating what everyone was thinking. I nodded as I set my chin on my palm, leaning over in exhaustion.

       "It shouldn't be that hard, not many people know about me any who. I'm not a popular pirate like Luffy, I keep a low profile. There are only a select few Navy soldiers who know about me. But it's only because they were sent after me." I explained.

       "You've got a good point." Sanji said quietly, taking a puff from his cigarette. "We should lay low for a while, try and stay in the eye of the storm for a bit," he finished saying as he put out his cigarette in an ash tray.

    "ShiShiShi! I'll protect you no matter what, F/N!" Luffy said with a smile, throwing his hands into the air.

    I looked to him and nodded with a happy glint in my eyes, "Thank you, Luffy." It wasn't worth saying I can take care of myself. Being stubborn for something of that level would be useless.

     The chatter started up again and the upbeat atmosphere returned. "How long until you can fly again?" Franky asked me as he took a swig from his coke.

I looked up in thought and put a finger to my lip, "Chopper said it should only take a week or so to heal. Hopefully I'm in the air soon though." I told him as I chewed on the mackerel in my mouth.

"Yohoho! I wish we had seen you in action!" Brook proclaimed as he shoved different foods down his throat that went straight through his body.

"Tra-guy was kind enough to fix you up!" Luffy said through the meat in his mouth. I nodded and sighed, looking at my plate as I set my fork down.

"Something wrong, F/N~Chan?" Sanji asked as he saw the sullen expression on my face. Looking up to him I gave him a small, forced smile.

      "I'm fine. Just a little tired is all." I told him, though it didn't look like he accepted my answer.

    "Alright then," Sanji responded quietly as he turned away, watching me in the corner of his eye with suspicion.

I neglected my food all together as I listened in to the other's conversations. "Katheid has many rare herbs that I want to find! They have plants like Rehmannia root, which is used for many things, including pain killers." Chopper chirped with excitement.

"Before we leave I definitely want to get a good supply of it!" The little reindeer smiled as he talked to Usopp.

I butted into the conversation as Usopp laughed. "Mind if I join you on that journey? Being asleep for three days really locked up my muscles, it'd be nice to get moving again." I said with a hint of a smile on my face.
