Pulling My Strings 〆『Law x Reader』

By the time I had woken up, Law was still asleep. It wasn't even the crack of dawn yet, meaning I had only gotten about five hours of sleep.

With a quiet yawn, I stood up from the chair I was previously sleeping in. There were sheet lines on my arm from laying on them and my back ached from being hunched over. Looking back, I peered at Law's sleeping face.

He was hugging one of his pillows with his face squished into it, his hair an unconditional mess. Small pieces of his raven locks fell over his cheeks, moving slightly when he breathed out.

I felt content within from the sight. He had fallen asleep in less than a minute last night, giving away how truly exhausted he was.

Quietly, I made my way across the room to the door, careful as to not step on any creaking floorboards. As I stood in front of the door, I looked back. Watching my captain's form slowly shift over to the other side of the bed.

It was almost impossible to look away, but I tore my eyes from him and opened the door. Without looking outside, I eased myself out of the room with my back facing the hallway wall. I shut the door quietly as to not wake him and with a sigh turned around.

"Ah!" I screamed in surprise. Penguin and Sachi were standing directly behind me. I covered my mouth in surprise, but quickly regained my composure. That definitely woke me up, I sarcastically thought.

"Sorry F/N! We didn't mean to startle you!" Sachi apologized quickly with a bow, making me notice the heavy boxes in both of their arms.

"Captain's sleeping. Quiet your voice," I instructed quietly with a finger to my lips. They both got faces of fear in terror of waking their ill-tempered captain.

"But F/N, what were you doing in Captain's room?" Penguin asked me as he cocked his head to the side in a curious manner. I opened my mouth to tell him but before I could he cut me off.

"Don't tell me you to?! OMG!" Penguin screeched, totally forgetting about the sleeping Law in the room directly next to us.

I shushed him, but it was already too late. "What's with all the God damn noise?!" Law slammed his bedroom door open with a thud.

The two men beside me froze in alarm, taking in their tired Captain's form. "We're sorry, Captain!" They both bowed in unison over and over again.

Law suddenly slid his gaze over to me, his mouth forming into a thin line. "You can go back to bed. We'll continue our conversation elsewhere," I told Law with a small dip of a bow.

As I turned he put his hand on my shoulder, "No. I got enough sleep. I'll meet you all in the dining room," Law said in a quiet, gruff voice before stalking back into his bedroom.

Penguin and Sachi released a long sigh as he went inside. "I'm surprised he didn't scold us." Penguin said quietly.

I stared at his door for a second, contemplating if I should force him back to sleep. "So F/N,"

With raised brows I looked over to Sachi, "What is it?" I asked, turning my body towards them.

"Why were you in Captain's room, eh?" Penguin asked, nudging Sachi with his elbow.

I sighed as I turned and started walking away so that Law wouldn't be disturbed by our talking. "I-." Before I could talk Penguin cut me off, again.

"You guys are a thing, aren't you?!" He jumped up in excitement. "Captain has never liked someone before!"

"And he still doesn't," I said coldly as I continued to walk towards my room. "I forced him to bed last night."
