I put my hand on his chest to help him steady himself, but he pushed my arm away. "I'm fine." Then he started walking away again, only for the same thing to happen.
"Nope," I said sternly as I grabbed him by the upper arm and guided him to his room. Which by part, I remembered from my first day here.
"F/N~ya I'm—." I cut him off be abruptly stopping, making him falter on his feet.
"If you say you are fine one more time I will rip your tongue out and shove it down your throat," I hissed at him, earning an annoyed glare.
I'm too fucking tired for this crap.
We walked in silence with my hand on his arm to make sure he wouldn't lose his balance. As we closed in on the door to his room, he put his hand on my shoulder.
I stopped walking and looked up at him, "What is it—?" ~ "Thank you."
I blinked as I stared into Law's golden eyes. "What?" My mouth hung open in disbelief. Law's cheeks turned red as he turned away, rubbing the back of his neck.
"You heard me," he grumbled, and a smile couldn't help but crawl up onto my cheeks. "No one really cares that I don't get a lot of rest. Since no one stopped me, it became habit to have an inconsistent sleep schedule." Law said quietly.
"I don't have the best schedule either," I huffed an ironic laugh. "I just slept for three days and I'm as exhausted as you." I said.
He smiled down at me in a mock. "I'll be off then," Law said, slipping out of my grip and towards his bedroom door.
Just as he opened the door I hopped next to him, "I'm waiting until you fall asleep." I said, pursing my lips and crossing my arms over my chest.
He made a 'seriously?' type of expression as he pushed the door open more. "I am not a child," he defended with the click of a tongue.
"Keep telling yourself that," I said quietly as I squeezed past him easily and into his room. I heard his scoff and I couldn't help but chuckle lightly to myself.
Law walked in and shut the door behind him, hitting the light switch. Silently, he
walked over to his wardrobe and grabbed a new and comfortable shirt.I stared unconsciously as he grabbed the hem of his shirt and slid it over his head. His strong back muscles contracted satisfyingly as he chucked his past shirt into the wardrobe and slid the other one on. It was a simple black plain shirt with a panda on it.
He turned and caught me staring, I quickly looked away as a blush dusted my cheeks. "Pervert." He laughed at me.
"Hah? You're the one who changed in front of me. You are the pervert," I looked away, muttering the last part.
Why was I so upbeat around him? My heart would speed up in both excitement and nervousness when I saw him, or someone talked about him. It was a foreign feeling.
While I wasn't looking he managed to slip on a pair of long, grey sweatpants that covered his feet.
I watched as he disappeared into the bathroom to wash up. Taking this chance to tidy up his desk, I turned on the side lamp after switching the ceiling light off.
There were multiple research journals and notes that leaned towards the health subject. As I shuffled through the papers and organized them, I stumbled against something.
It was a medical record. Looking to the top I read my name with my birthdate and sex next to it. What is this? I wondered as I picked it up to get a better look.
My eyes widened as I read it, my hands trembling.
F/N L/N Sex: Female Age: 24
March 14- Multiple bruises and twisted ankle. Owner said it was from falling downs the stairs.December 30- Burns on the thigh, Owner said it was from dropping a boiling hot pan on one self.
Owner. Owner. Owner.
"What are you looking at?" Law asked, startling me as I looked up to him. He was wiping his face with a towel.
I handed him the paper, "Just that. . ." I responded quietly, a grim feeling settling over me. My chest tightened in sadness and a lump formed in my throat. I bit my tongue to keep from crying.
Law looked at the paper with furrowed brows. "I'm sorry they did that to you," he said quietly with sympathy.
I crossed my arms and looked away in discomfort. "Not your fault."
Before I could register what had happened, Law had pulled me into a warm embrace. Medical report abandoned onto the floor.
I pushed my hands against his chest as he hugged me tighter, setting one hand on my hip and the other intertwined in my hair.
It felt weird, but I also didn't want to let go. Law isn't the kind of person to give a hug purposely.
I breathed in his scent, a wave of something sweet mixed with the scent of that of a new carpet.
He pulled away and took a step back, looking down at me. "You need rest. Go get some sleep. I promise I'll head to bed in less than half an hour." Law said, sitting at his desk.
I plucked him from his chair, "Sleep. Now." A menacing aura took over me as I glared at him. He sighed and stood up, heading over to the left side of the bed.
Contently, I shut off the light that was on the desk and head over to him as he settled in bed with the covers over him.
I pulled over a chair and sat there, looking down at his golden eyes. His two hands were up next to his face, making him look a lot more innocent than he actually was. The room wad now pitch back, save for the hallway light seeping through the bottom crack of the door.
"You're so persistent you know?" he grumbled in a whisper. I reached forward and stroked his head, combing his hair in a calming head massage.
"I know." I responded. But his eyes had shut from my head rub and soon enough the man was asleep. His light snores filling the silent room.
I smiled as I realized there was no way I'd make it back to my room without fainting. So I leaned over and rested my head on my arms, smoothing the sheets beneath me.
"Goodnight, Law."
