When she got to TM, Jax was in the lot and guided Shawn to park inside the garage, where he closed the door, hiding her car. They walked into the clubhouse where Gemma and Unser were there waiting.
"Do you know what this is about?" Shawn asked Unser.
"No idea. That ATF bitch kicked me out of the station first thing this morning."
"So, they got Luanne on drugs. What do they got on you?" Gemma asked.
"Beats the hell outta me," Shawn told her honestly.
"Think, Shawn. What was the last bad shit you did and got away with?" Jax asked her.
"I haven't done anything in so long. I don't even-" Shawn stopped as an idea came to mind. She smiled a little bit and covered her mouth with her hand to hide it.
"Well, I don't like where this is going," Gemma said.
"What?" Jax asked. Shawn glanced at Juice and then Jax.
"My senior prank?"
A look of realization crossed Jax's face. He patted her on the back. "I'll visit you in prison, Shawn."
"Thanks. I appreciate it."
"Wait, senior prank? High school? Wouldn't you have been a minor?" Juice asked.
"Nope, she already turned 18 by then."
"What's the charge?" Unser asked.
Shawn was really dreading telling Unser. "Um... grand theft auto?"
Juice raised his eyebrows in surprise and Gemma scoffed.
"It was over ten years ago, right? There's statute of limitations on these things," Unser pointed out.
"Not when..." Shawn said and then looked at Jax.
"Oh, no. I ain't going to be the one who tells him," Jax said.
Shawn heaved a sigh. "Not when it's... a cop car."
"Holy shit. You're the one who stole my Goddamn squad car?" Unser asked.
"Oh, my God," Juice said, his voice filled with laughter.
"Dude, it was beautiful," Jax told him.
"Excuse me?" Gemma asked him.
"I wasn't there when she did it. I just saw it the next morning," Jax defended himself.
"You're looking at destruction of property, too," Unser informed her.
"I didn't destroy the car. You got it back the next morning. So, technically, I borrowed it."
"You did Goddamn donuts in the football field. That's what got destroyed."
"Beautiful," Jax stressed to Juice.
"And I never got the keys back, either."
"That's actually not my fault. I gave them to Opie."
"Ok, besides me and Ope, no one else even knew you did that. So, that can't be it."
"That's not entirely true. I sort of passed David Hale outside the stadium."
"Well there you have it," Unser said. "Hale is working with the ATF."
"Hey, we got something outside," Juice said, looking at the monitor above the bar as a couple cop cars pulled in.
"Look, Hale didn't actually see you in the car, right?" Unser asked. Shawn nodded. "So, anything they got is circumstantial. Go with them, deny even knowing it happened. They can't charge you on just what Hale says. Got it?"
"Got it," Shawn said.
They others all walked out ahead of Shawn. There was a woman in a suit there along with a few officers.
"I'm looking for Shawn Trager," she said to Jax, then saw Shawn behind them. "Miss Trager, I assume?"
"Yeah. What's this?"
"I'm Agent Stahl. ATF. You're going to have to come with us," Stahl said as two officers moved towards Shawn and tried to put her in handcuffs.
"You going to bother mentioning a charge?" Shawn asked.
"No charge, yet. Just want to take you to the station and ask you a few questions."
"Then you can do that without the cuffs. I know my Goddamn rights."
Stahl looked surprised. "Wow. Beauty and brains. After you, Miss Trager."
Shawn ripped her arm away from the cop and walked over to the car. An officer opened the door for her. She got in and he closed the door before getting in the driver's seat and pulling out of the lot.
