All five of you slowly made your way to Ms. Bitters class. You knew every step closer was pushing you to your own doom. You shared nervous glances with your classmates as you approached the classroom door. Nobody wanted to go first, or even attempt to open the door. Melissa stretched out her arm towards the door knob. Stopping right before she reached it, hand trembling. Before she could muster the courage to open the door it swung open by itself. "GET IN AND STAND STILL" the ghostly face of Ms. Bitters said as she stared at us from the doorway. We all gulped nervously. Melissa walked in first and we all filed in behind her, standing in front of the class. I scanned the room, noticing exactly 5 empty seats. I looked at all the kids, stopping my eyes in their tracks at a boy in the far corner. His skin is green? What kind of condition is that? I thought to myself. I  didn't realize I was staring until Ms. Bitters loud voice yelled "Students get to your assigned seats". I realized the boy with green skin was staring back, I quickly looked away. Ms. Bitters pointed each of us to our seats. Coincidentally I got the seat next to the mysterious green kid. He glanced at me from the side of his eye, and I couldn't help but do the same. Something is wrong with this class, and this kid. I was getting uncomfortable. I tried to focus on the lesson at hand the rest of class, but the tension between the green kid, and I was distracting. Every few minutes I would glance over to see him doing the same. We both quickly averted our eyes. Finally the bell for recess rang. I proceeded to follow everyone outside. Walking down the school steps I felt a hand grab my arm. I swung around to face a kid with rather large hair. "Hi my names Dib!" He said while holding a hand out. I shook his hand "My name is (Y/N), it's nice to meet you" I replied. "I couldn't help but notice you've kept an eye on Zim the entire class" he said with enthusiasm. "Is that his name? He gives off a weird vibe" I replied. "Oh that's because he's an alien" Dib replied nonchalantly. "Say what? I can't tell if you're joking or not" I said with caution, and wide eyes. "Nope not a joke, he says he has a skin condition but it's not true, his disguise is just terrible" he replied. I glanced over to where Zim had settled by nearby tree, almost jumping out of my skin as I saw him staring back with a look of aggression on his face. "Now I'm not saying I believe you, but I'm also not saying I don't" I said turning my attention back to Dib so I didn't have to keep looking at Zim. "I have so much proof it's ridiculous, nobody ever believes me because they're so stubborn" Dib said with obvious frustration. "Tell you what, I'll believe you if you show me proof" I promised him. "Really? You're actually going to give me the chance to prove it?" He said with disbelief, and excitement at the same time. "You bet, today after school, your place?" I replied. "Yes! I can't wait to make someone else a believer!" He said with a jump while pumping his fists in the air. I laughed at his apparent enthusiasm. Unknown to either of us this display of happiness made Zim uncomfortable. Zim didn't like the idea of his sworn enemy making an ally. I glanced at Zim once again only to squeak in fear when I saw him walking angrily towards us. His face held an angry, and aggressive look. His teeth were clenched, and bared revealing a row of sharp teeth. That was enough to make your body shiver. Dib sewing my expression turned to what I was looking at. As Zim neared we both turned towards him. "Hello disgusting earth creatures" Zim sneered as he made his way in front of us. "What do you want Zim?" Dib sneered. "Oh nothing, I was just wondering the reason for your terrible display of happiness" he asked pretending to be sincere. "Oh nothing" Dib drawled out, "I just made a friend that wants to see proof you're an alien, and once I show her, there will be nothing stopping us from teaming up to stop you" he continued, unsuccessfully hiding his glee. You chuckled, making Zim turn towards you. You immediately regretted it because Zim then leaned forward until he was an inch from your face. Hands clasped behind his back. He bared his sharp teeth, "not a wise decision I would say" he spoke with anger. You could feel the color drain from your cheeks as you stood there. Zim remained unmoving and stared right at you, not breaking eye contact. Suddenly the bell for lunch rang. Just in time you thought to yourself. "Run along now Zim, and pretend to be human" Dib said sarcastically, forcing Zim to break eye contact. "Oh this isn't over You earth scum" Zim spat. Dib grabbed my hand, and pulled me towards the cafeteria, signaling that our conversation with Zim was over. Boy this day is just going great I thought to myself as we made our way to the cafeteria.
