Dib and you exchanged determined glances. "Let's do this before I chicken out" you say quickly. Dib nods in agreement and leads the way out of the classroom. You both run through the school to the front entrance. Now outside you take another good look at the huge robot destroying the city. You could hear the crashing of buildings and faint screams from those fleeing in terror. "How do we catch up to that thing? It's moving so fast" you exclaim, watching it push through buildings as if they didn't exist. "We need a ride" Dib replied scanning the view in front of us for an idea. "We're going to have to steal a car" he said casually after a few moments. "Steal a car? As in the thing people get sent to jail for?" You said in disbelief. "Yes because with a giant robot destroying the city the police are definitely making sure no one is stealing cars" Dib said sarcastically rolling his eyes. "Yeah yeah whatever good point" you said crossing your arms. "Do you know how to drive?" You asked raising an eyebrow, arms still crossed. "How hard can it be" He replied with a grin. "Oh brother" you said rolling your eyes. "Let's hurry we don't have much time" Dib said taking off towards the road. "Pick a car I guess, and a fast one" you said running behind him. "That one!" Dib said pointing to a rather expensive looking red car. "Boys" you said rolling your eyes with a grin. Dib took out his laptop once you guys reached the vehicle. You tried the door handle to no avail. Taking out some sort of cord Dib lifted the hood and attached it to the car. "Don't worry I can make it work" he said nonchalantly. Within a minute the doors were open, and no alarm had sounded their break in. "Impressive" you smirked.
You both hopped into the car, Dib sliding into the drivers seat. You quickly put on your seatbelt anticipating a crash at some point during this journey. Dib used his laptop to get the car started. After putting his seatbelt on he shifted the car into drive, and off we went. "You're going 10 miles per hour" you said unamused. "This is a complicated process" Dib replied. You rolled your eyes. You held on for dear life as he pressed down on the gas making the car lurch forward at high speed. "Please don't get us killed" you said, holding on to anything you could get your hands on. "Don't worry we should get there in one piece" he replied while narrowly avoiding a trash can that had landed in the road. You took a deep breath and kept your focus on the road ahead of you. Within minutes you were getting closer to the giant robot wreaking havoc across the city. Slowly it grew bigger and bigger the closer you got to it. Despite Dib's erratic driving you were actually making good time. The streets were deserted besides a few people here and there running for their lives.
Dib stopped the car a few streets away. Leaving it parked on the side of the road you both got out and quickly headed towards the giant robot. "So uh Dib? What's our plan of attack?" You asked nervously. You both were now very close, sneaking down the alleys so as to not be seen. "I have to get closer to determine how to shut that thing off" he replied while simultaneously typing on his laptop and jogging towards the destruction. "Do you think it has an off switch?" You replied, knowing how silly that sounded. "They usually do, if this is Zim's doing then there should be a button hidden somewhere. Zim never learns" Dib said shaking his head and still typing on his laptop. "This button wouldn't happen to be near the bottom of the robot would it?" You asked sheepishly, already having an idea of what the answer was going to be. "Not likely unfortunately" Dib said flashing a nervous grin. "We have to get much much closer to see what we're dealing with" he said picking up the pace. "I'd honestly rather not" you said rolling your eyes and quickening your own pace.
It wasn't long until you both were standing right behind the giant robot of destruction. You could hear people screaming and cars crashing a few streets ahead. You shuddered as your nerves began to get the best of you. "Please tell me you see something" you said wrapping your arms around yourself. Dib was furiously typing on his laptop and scanning the robot with some type of handheld device. "Hopefully soon we'll be able to see everything about this robot once my scans are complete" he replied fast at work.
"Do you normally just carry this stuff around with you?" You asked. "Why yes, yes I do, and do you know why? In case giant robots decide to destroy the city" he replied with pride. "Okay fair point" you said rolling your eyes. "It's done!" He said excitedly, "come take a look". You looked at what he was motioning to and saw the entire layout of the robot printed on his laptop screen. "This is great but I don't see an off switch" you said disappointed. "It's right here, on the left shoulder, hidden by a metal plate" he said pointing to the diagram. "So we have to go all the way up there" you said pointing to the way too huge robot towering above the city. "Unfortunately that's exactly what this means" Dib replied with a frown."and how exactly do we climb this thing?" You said hoping Dib would say it was a better idea to let the military handle it. "There's a ladder built into both sides of the robot, I'm assuming this is so Zim can have easy access in and out of it" Dib replied once again pointing to the diagram. "Great, this city better be thankful" you muttered.
