You made your way to the front of the school. Dib was waiting for you by the steps. "Let's get out of here, I'm sick of this place already" you said with an unnoticed shudder. "Great I can't wait to show you all my files" he said with glee. "Tessa!" You shouted as you saw her waiting. "I'm going to Dib's house will you let mom know I'm going to be late?" I asked. Tessa gave a thumbs up, and sped off home. The walk to Dib's house was mostly uneventful. Dib droned on and on about his paranormal studies, and how nobody ever believes him. You were so caught up in his ramblings that you didn't notice you had arrived at the beginning of a small cul-de-sac. "You live here?" You asked with raised eyebrows. "No. I want to show you where Zim lives first" he said with a serious tone. "Why do I need to know this?" You asked confused. You didn't want to even think about Zim anymore after today's events. "Because it's always good to know where your enemy lives, and this is where all of my proof was captured" he said with intensity as we made our way to stand out of view of Zim's house. "That's a good point, but I was also hoping not to make an enemy, and I definitely don't want an enemy that sees me outside of their house" you said biting your lip, the nervousness once again creeping up on you. "Alright, let me show you my house now, it's not far from here" Dib replied with a smile.
After 10 minutes of walking you both finally arrived to Dib's house. The first room in the house was the living room. Gaz sat on the couch playing her video game. Her fingers furiously pushing buttons left and right. She was moving so fast you thought it was almost as if she was pre programmed to push those buttons, like some sort of robot. Gaz gave a grunt of acknowledgement as we passed by to make our way to Dib's room where he stored all of his "evidence". As we entered his room I was immediately drawn to all of his technology. In one corner was a computer screen sitting on a desk. Surrounding the screen was recording equipment, and external hard drives. "I need a lot of storage to contain my proof, I've got a lot of it" He said, impressed with himself. "Alright let's see it" I said playfully rolling my eyes. Dib chuckled and motioned for you to sit on his bed with him. He pulled out a laptop, and set it on his lap. Typing quickly he pulled up an album of photos. "You see? Here's my proof! The great Zim who is so clever (eye roll) just walking around without his disguise!" He exclaimed, mostly excitement clouded his voice, but also a pleading edge took tone as he looked at exasperated. You could tell he really wanted you to believe him. You glued your eyes to the screen and studied the image. What you saw had a similar resemblance to Zim. The skin color was exactly the same, but what once was a pair of magenta eyes, was not large ruby eyes. Where Zim had hair was now replaced with two antennas. It was undoubtedly Zim, but was this photoshopped? You thought to yourself. The creature in the picture had Zim's outfit he wore to school on. Looking back at Dib you studied his reaction. There's no way he would photoshop an image if he really believes in aliens you thought to yourself. Your eyes grew wide as your brain processed the information. A real live alien was living in your hometown, and he was dangerous. Not only was Zim dangerous, but he had already established you as his enemy, making things worse.
"I can't believe I'm saying this but I believe you" you said wide eyed, breaking the silence that had settled in the room. "Yes! Yes, yes, yes" he exclaimed, as he did a little dance around the room, and pumped his fists in the air. "Finally another believer, my own family doesn't even believe me" Dib said with a hint of sadness. He settled on the bed next to me once again. "So what exactly do you do with all this information you have on Zim?" I asked curiously as I grab a random file sitting on his bed. The file contained pictures of random supernatural creatures, Zim included. Underneath Zim's picture was some random facts, and information. The piece of information that most caught my attention was his species label, which read Irken. Irken? I thought to myself. "Normally I try to get people to believe me, and stop his attempts to destroy the planet, he tries it a lot" Dib said nonchalantly. I couldn't wrap my head around how calm he was. "Judging by your response I'm guessing this is a normal everyday thing for you?" I asked, still flipping through the file. "Oh yeah Zim tries to take over the planet all the time, I've stopped him every time so far though" Dib replied with enthusiasm. I continued to try, and wrap my head around everything. I was starting to feel dizzy. "Could I have a glass of water? I'm parched" I asked, hoping it would help clear my head. "Yeah sure let's go to the kitchen" Dib said, as he headed towards the door. We made our way down the stairs, and into his kitchen. It was a regular everyday kitchen, except for the random devices and inventions littering the counter and table. "Are these your inventions?" You asked, curiously examining some sort of contraption on the table. "No, my dad is a really famous scientist, and he's always working on stuff" he replied, searching for a glass. "So say now that I know Zim tries to take over the world, if something happens, do we just.....try to stop him?" You asked curiously, while thinking about what you could possibly do to stop an alien. "I mean unless you want the planet to be destroyed then yes" he replied with a laugh. You chuckled at your sudden realization of the absurdity of your question. Dib handed you a glass of cool water, and you took it giving a nod in thanks.
"I really didn't want to make an enemy at school, but I also can't let the planet be destroyed. Partners?" I asked shrugging my shoulders and giving a sheepish grin. "Wait, do you really mean it?" Dib said as his eyes grew wide, mouth agape in disbelief. "Yeah, I mean I kind of like being alive" you said with humor. "Partners then!" He replied as he held his hand out. You took his hand and shook it. "Partners then" you said with a smile.
