"Hello. You must be Geralt." You mused, watching as the tall, fair haired man stepped into your shop.

"Uh? Were you expecting me.." He asked, puzzled by how you knew who he was.

You smiled slightly, a glint in your eye. "Yes."

"How?"

"I've seen you around town. I'm aware of the curse on the nobleman up the hill. Putting two and two together, I figured it would lead you here."

"Yes.." You could tell he was skeptical of you, but he continued to look around your shop. "You're the herbalist, and I hear you sometimes work as a doctor. The nobleman mentioned coming to you a few times, why?"

"You said it yourself. I'm both a herbalist and medical... dabbler. I've seen enough of the war to pick up the necessary skills, if you will. Therefore, is it really much of a stretch for you to assume why he would come to me?" You showed little interest in Geralt, picking at your nails as you spoke.

"Humor me."

"Humor is not my forte. I deal in plants, medicine, and sometimes death. If you wish to speak of those things, I assure you I have answers, but.. How you say... Funny business, not my style." The way you spoke was comparable to a wolf growling, baring it's teeth with each angry sound. You were not fond of questioning, and wanted to get to the point. "He came to me because of the curse. It brings him great pain, there wasn't much I could do. I gave him a few herbs and medicines to ease his suffering and sent him away."

Geralt seemed unsure of your answer, but he could sense that you were done talking. He thanked you for your time before stepping back out of the store.

Later that evening, you were taking a stroll along the edge of the forest, collecting herbs as you went. A twig snapped, catching your attention. You knew who it was before you even had to turn.

"Geralt. Back so soon?" You called out.

"What are you doing out here?" He asked, cautiously observing you.

"Oh. I'm here to slay the dragon! Look out!" You cried, pointing behind Geralt. He didn't react, only stared at you with hard eyes. You smirked, a brief chuckle escaping your throat. "Kidding. Obviously, I'm collecting herbs." You showed him the basket that you had hooked on your arm.

Geralt looked over the basket, seeing many plants he recognized. "You grow all of these at your shop, why come out here?"

"I'm looking for a particular mushroom. Might as well collect more product as I do so. Let my stock at home ripen before I pluck it."

Geralt decided to change his line of questioning. "Did you know that the nobleman's wife was the one who posted the notice, not the man himself? Isn't it odd, he was choosing to suffer through his pain, rather than seek out help?"

You sighed, taking a seat on a nearby log. This would clearly be a long conversation. "Men like him can be quite stubborn, I'm not surprised the woman took it upon herself to ask for help. He thinks he's strong, a man of noble blood, warrior lineage." Your scoff sounded almost like a laugh. "Fellow hasn't been to battle a day in his life. He's never spilled the blood of another, felt the adrenaline, smelled the fear and filth. This is the first true challenge he's ever been faced with, of course he would want to prove he could beat it, that he could win. Death is inevitable, one day, we will all die. Perhaps he hopes to cheat death, for now. But it will catch him."
