The sound of war echoed through the air. Shrill screams. Thunderous footsteps. It was hard to ignore the sound of metal clashing against metal. Geralt could hear water rushing down the streets, but he knew it was actually rivers of blood.

He sat in his cell, meditating. Waiting. Preparing his escape. His eyes remained closed as his breathing steadied, his nerves hardened and he began to call forth magical energy.

"Hello." A smooth voice called out, directed towards his cell. "Come now, open those eyes, Master Witcher. We've not got all night."

Geralt peeked through his eyelids, noticing a figure leaned against his cell door.

"Well? What are you waiting for?" The voice urged him on. "Up you go."

Geralt remained still, except he now fully stared at the woman before him. She wore Cintran guard armor, though it didn't seem to fit quite right. She smirked as she noticed Geralt's eyes traveling across her body.

"Now, now." She tutted. "You can look as much as you like later, when we aren't running from the Nilfgaardian army."

She then dug her hand into her pocket, retrieving a lock picking set that she deftly used on the cell door. It swung open with a scraping sound, masked by the cries of war above.

You entered the cell, steps quick as you moved towards Geralt. He didn't react to you, but you were cautious of him. One wrong move and you were sure he'd try to kill you.

"Pardon me, I forgot to relay the message." You announced as you quickly unchained his arms and feet. "Miss Yennefer sent me. Owed her a favor, though this was a bit more risky than what I was expecting her to ask for..."

You were obviously shocked when Yennefer asked you to break the witcher out of the Cintran dungeon. Queen Calanthe was not a ruler you wished to anger, but you owed Yennefer.

"Why do it then?" Geralt's voice rattled the cell like stones tumbling in a cave.

You smiled slightly. "Miss was always nice to me. Did me a real favor years back. Said I was the only person she could trust with this specific job, of course I wanted to help her. Now, enough small talk. We need to go."

Geralt took a moment to stretch when he was finally released before following after you down the hall. You dipped into a room, where a guard laid sprawled across the floor in his underpants.

"Don't look at me like that." You chuckled, stepping past the guard to a chest along the wall. "Here we are, your armor and weapons."

You popped the lock on the chest, pulling out Geralt's possessions that laid inside. You kept watch in the hall as Geralt quickly changed. He silently slipped out just as other guards ran down the hall. You were leaned against the wall, stiffly twirling a sword as they approached.

"What the hell are you doing here!?" The taller guard asked, his eyes leaping from you to Geralt. "And with him!?"

"Queen sent me to fetch 'im." You calmly replied, pushing yourself off the wall.

"Why're you just standing here? Are you dull, we're under attack!" The second guard screeched in a panic, clearly antsy from the way he swayed.

You tapped the tip of your blade at his feet. "Aye, are you dull? Of course I know we're under attack, why else would I release the fuckin' witcher!? Got a damn village slayer in the basement, be right dim to leave him there! Get out of my face before ya meet an early grave!"
