(Y/N)'s POV :

"Good morning, Shorty."

"Morning, Golden boy" He groaned.

"Why blood? Same blood!"

(A reference used when one person is in the same situation as another.)

"So... Coming to breakfast?"

"Yeah...but I have to meet professor Snape.. I will catch you in the great hall."

"See you then."

I exited my common room and started walking towards the dungeons. Professor Snape was my mom's bestest friend in entire Hogwarts, when they were studying here. They continue to be best friends, till this day. He is my godfather. He visits me even during the holidays. I call him 'Professor Snape' inside Hogwarts. But outside, he'll always be Sevvy to me. I call him that because, that was how my mother called him. As no one except Ced knows my relation to him, the others always wonder why he unusually favors a hufflepuff.

I knocked on the door as I reached his office.

"Come in" I heard him call.

"Good morning professor" I greeted him with my usual smile.

"Morning Miss. (Y/L/N)" He greeted me with one of his rare smiles that he reserved for me. "Now, what brings a teenage girl, like yourself, who would rather be enjoying a delightful breakfast, here? " He asked, still smiling.

"Maybe, I missed you?"

"You forget that I am a Legilimens...."

"Right! Mom has sent the ingredients you asked for " I said, placing them in his private stores. "What ingredient is that? she told me, you couldn't get it anywhere?! "

"I don't think it would be appropriate to tell you."

"Just a hint?"

"No!" Helga! He is as stubborn as my mother!

"Fine...I'll see you in class then!"

"Remind me what other subjects you're taking, (Y/N)?"

"Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology..."

"All the subjects required, in short, for an Auror?"

"Yeah, well, that's what I'd like to do."

"And a great one you'll make too!"

I smiled at him. "That was rather rare, coming from you!"

"Don't go expecting it often . Expectations lead to failure!"

"I don't expect professor! I just hope!" I said, walking backwards and waved in farewell and turned to leave his office.

3rd person POV :

He shook his head, smiling.

The small moments like this were what reminded him of his best friend, the girl he loved even more than lily, platonically. Her mother was the one who looked through his mask and discovered his real self. This girl was so much like her mother, which made it impossible for him, to not love her like his own daughter. But he told no one because he knew, if there was one thing that made people vulnerable, it was telling our loved ones, aloud, how much we love them and how much they actually mean to us. He had made that blunder once in his life with Lily. He would never do that again with his best friend or her daughter.
