It was two weeks after the term started. (Y/N) and Alex had gotten so close. She had even forgot all about the almost kiss. They had potions that day. They were to start the Practical part. Professor Snape entered the class and silence followed.
"You'll be brewing Amortentia, today. The instructions " he flicked his wand "is on the board. You can choose your partners. Miss (Y/L/N), you can brew the potion alone, considering one person will be left without a partner. I hope you will not commit a mistake."
"Yes professor!"
She brewed the Amortentia, and obtained all the features, that were necessary. Out of curiosity, she took a sniff. She smelled rain, the qudditch pitch, and..... what the hell? The Twillight book?!! (A/N : Sorry! couldn't control myself. I wanted to add that.)
She could always differentiate the smell of Twillight book from the others. She didn't know how, but she just could. A certain character from the book, who was dashing, kind and a bit stupid, reminded her so much of Cedric.
She also smelt some cologne. She knew that smell!
'No! It can't be!' she thought to herself.
That was the smell of Cedric's cologne!
She freaked out. She simply couldn't be in love wither best friend.
But then, she remembered the moment she almost kissed him while dancing!
Flashes of memories with him crossed her mind, as she simply stood there, not knowing what to do, shock overtaking her!
She remembered all the happy moments they spent together.

She remembered the way her insides froze, when she thought or spoke about him for the past half year.
While remembering them, she realized something. As they had been close friends from the beginning, she didn't realize her feelings turning into something more than friendship for him. All the time she thought her friendship with him was just getting intensified, she had been falling in love with him. She couldn't pinpoint when it started but as her mind travelled back in time, she could recognize moments where she had actually did things out of her emotional attraction rather than friendship.
So she stood there, complete and utter shock filling her body, without any knowledge of what she had to do.
