It's Complicated

After we ate we rushed out the door, I had my own car and Cami couldn't drive so I dropped her off at work before I drove myself to work.

"Good morning Stella" I said greeting my boss as I walked in, "Morning Alex. Ready to start the day?" She asked. I went to my station and wrapped the apron around my waist. "Ready as I'll ever be" I sighed, as we watched one of the other girls walk in.

Stella stood in the middle of the store, "now that everyone is here can I have your attention" she said. We all huddled around her to hear what she had to say, "as you all know this is the second store here in Miami and I haven't had a lunch party yet" she said.

"So by the end of the week we will be setting up a lunch party. So I want you all to be on your best behaviour and do your best at your work so we can promote the studio" she said and we all clapped. "Also my family will be coming here from New York so I want everyone to act accordingly. Am I clear?"

We nodded, "alright back to work" she clapped her hands and walked back to her office. I turned back to my station and started to set everything up and look through my appointment schedule.

"This is so exciting I wonder how many people are going to be here" one of the girls said, "most probably a lot. Stella isn't famous for noting" Another repiled. "But anyways I don't care about all the other people, I heard Stella's brother is going to be here" the second girl said dreamily.

"She has a brother?" The first one asked, "of course she does. And who could Stella's little brother be other then the hottest bachelor in New York" the second repiled. "Who?" The first asked engarly, "Nicholas Thorne" she said fanning herself.

Both girls squealed and chatted on about how they where going to get his attention. I rolled my eyes and focused as my fist client walked in for the day.

By the end of the day my feet were killing me and I was ready to sleep for a week. I was packing up my stuff when Stella called me to her office. I took a seat opposite her with a sigh, "busy day?" She asked. "Very" I said, "so what's up?" I asked sitting straighter.

Stella was not only the person who owned and ran the studio and my boss, she was also a close friend of mine. She let lose around me and we could talk about anything. "So you excited for the launch?" She asked.

"Yeah I think having it was an awsome idea" I said giving her an encouraging smile. "I know and I'm even more excited for you to meet my family...more specifically my brother" she said slyly.

"Stella" I said in a scolding tone, "oh come on Alex. You said it's been years, and my brothers single and you are kind of single so why not?" She asked. "Because I have a boyfriend who would hunt your brother down and kill him if he found out about this" I said. "Alex you need to keep your options open, I mean what if he's getting with other girls while you're sitting and waiting for him? How do you know he's even coming back?" She asked.

"Okay now you're starting to sound like Cami" I said, "well great minds think alike" she said. I just started at her, "Okay let's go out for dinner, I need a drink after this" she said rubbing her head. "Okay but you're paying" I said getting my back and following her out.

I picked Cami up before driving to the restaurant and meeting Stella there. It was obvious of Stella to chose her favourite place to eat at. A cozy little Italian place not too far from the studio. "Hey how have you been?" Cami asked hugging her as we approached the table. "I've been good its been ages" Stella repiled and we sat down.

A waiter came and took our orders before leaving us alone again. "So have things been?" Stella asked looking between me and Cami. "If you're asking if he hasn't called her but is still alive, and my man still calls me, then yes" Cami said. I slapped my palms on the table and looked at them with disbelief, "Seriously. You two are ganging up on me?" I asked.

"No" said Stella, "Yes" was Cami's reply. Stella gave Cami a look which she shrugged of before turning to me. "It's more of an intervention" Stella said soothingly.

"She told me her brother is coming to town and he's hot so why not?" Was Cami's argument.

"Okay that's it, I'm not some alcoholic that I need an intervention. I'm very happy at the moment thank you, we are both working on ourselves and we are happy. Now I'm going to sit and have a nice peaceful dinner with my friends and I don't want to hear another word of this."
