*Jay's POV*

I knew Erin was sitting at my side. Everything she said touched me deeply and so I couldn't stop a tear from running out of my eye.
"Jay?" Erin sounded scared and so I opened my eyes to look at her.
"Hey." I squeezed her hand and she started crying, this time for joy.
"Your in pain?" She wiped away my tears.
"No, I'm fine. Just what you said... it touched me." It was the truth.
"You heard what I said? Why didn't you say something?" She blushed.
"I didn't want to interrupt." Erin usually didn't talk about her feelings, and I liked the rare moments when she did. Even if it was under these circumstances.
"Erin. I love you too. And I do really appreciate that your stayed here till I woke up. Could you maybe come a bit closer? Because I can't move without being in pain." As Erin came closer I kissed her and I put all the love I felt for her into it.
"Well what do I see there? My brother seems to be fine again." I ignored Will for a few more seconds and then loosened my lips from Erins.
"So... honestly.. how do you feel?" Will looked at my vital signs and said everything looked fine.
"I'm going to leave you two than again. And guys, close the windows before you sleep together." Jay teased Erin and me and than left.
"Sibling love." Erin chuckled.
"Do you stay with me tonight?" I looked at her with big puppy eyes.
"Do you think I spent more than 30 hours in this hospital to leave ya than when you wake up? It would take a dozen horses to get me out of here." Erin pulled a chair next to my bed and made herself comfortable.
"Jay? Can you hold my hand? I need to know that your back here with me." Her voice almost sounded begging.
"Of course." I moved my arm so she could grab my hand.
"I love you, Jay." She kissed my hand and than made herself comfortable with my hand.

*Jay's POV*

As I woke up Erin was still asleep and she was still holding my hand. I checked the clock and found out it was only 5am.
My movement must have woken Erin up and as she felt my forehead she got up and called for a nurse.
"He got a fever." She explained and the nurse agreed with her.
I was about to jump out of the bed as I saw that she had a syringe in her hand.
Erin saw my reaction.
"Is there any other way than inject the medicines?" Erin asked the nurse.
"No, sorry. This way it works best." She shrugged her shoulders.
"Can you page Dr Halstead?" I was hoping that at least Will could get me the shot.
"Why would you like to have Dr Halstead here?" The nurse looked at me confused.
"He's my brother." I explained and it only took a few moments till Will was in the room.
"Thanks Penny, I got it from here." He took the syringe from her.
"You're keeping us busy, huh?" Will looked at Erin.
"Can you just give me this thing." I looked at the syringe in disgust.
"Hold his hand." Will ordered Erin and than he gave me the shot.
"Ouch." I complained.
"I've seen babys who took it without complain and you've been a soldier, man." My brother rolled his eyes about my behavior.
"That's a total different thing." He was already leaving so I called after him.
"For God's sake, Jay. Please don't be allergic to the shot and die of an allergic shock. Because I think all other ways you could die have been used in the last few hours." As I looked at Erin I saw that she was shaking a bit.
"Hey, Erin. Look at me." I moved my arm and made her looking at me.
"I'm fine okay? I've done with the operations and I got something against the fever so I'm going to be fully okay in a few weeks, okay?" With all the hustle and bustle, I had never thought about what the situation was doing with Erin. She had seen me almost die and had to endure me having another operation only to wake up to me having a fever.
"Your not okay. You've been shot." She grabbed my hand and squeezed it.
"I don't wanna sound rude but you truly look horrible. Why don't you get some rest? I obviously won't run away and I promise you not to die while your sleeping. I promise, okay?" I looked at her and she just nodded because she was too tired to respond. It only took a couple of minutes till she was asleep.
