(Y/N) POV:
I had passed all my owls with satisfactory grades and was excited to start my Sixth year.
When I got into the Hogwarts express, I found an empty compartment and settled there. I opened my novel and started reading it.
"You know what?" I looked up at the sound of my best friend's voice and saw him leaning against the compartment door. "Sometimes, I think you should have actually been in Ravenclaw."
"Is that so?"
"Yeah... or Slytherin. You are too evil sometimes. Like now. Not even waiting for our best friend now, are we?"
"Slytherins are not known for being evil. They are ambitious and cunning. Personally, I think I should have been in Gryffindor. I am too brave! "
"Are you?"
"Yeah. I put up with you, don't I? That requires a lot of courage. But, it's ok. I am happy where I am and I looovveee Hufflepuff!"
He smiled and entered the compartment, and sitting across me.
"So, how was your summer?"
"Pretty good." I shrugged "yours?"
"Boringggg!" He groaned exaggeratedly. I shook my head, smiling. Always Dramatic, that idiot was. I looked at him. He had grown during the summer, not to mention he was already taller than me. He had gotten more handsome and he already had most of the girls swooning over him. But he was not only handsome. He was kind, very friendly, smart, bubbly, idiotic and my best friend.
"Soooooooooooo, Miss Social butterflyyyyy" He trailed off
Yup. That was me. I knew almost every people above fourth year in Hogwarts. I also knew some people below that year. And they also knew me. I had friends in every house, but my best friend was always Cedric. From the first day I met him in the station, we were inseparable.
"Yes, tell me Mr.Hogwarts Heartthrob!" He cringed at the nick name. He hated it when people called him that. And I always loved calling him that, just to annoy him.
"Don't call me that!"
"Oookayyy. What about the Golden boy?" He hated that too.
"No!"
"Hmmm...Pretty boy Diggory?"
"You are spending too much time with the weasley twins!" He huffed playfully.
"What should I call you then?"
"Ced will do!"
We were quiet for few seconds, before we burst out laughing. We had this conversation too many times already. We would do that whenever we get bored.
"Fine, then! Ced!" I smiled
"Hi cedric!" We turned to see Cho chang, the fourth year Ravenclaw standing by the door. We smiled at her.
Cedric had developed a crush on Cho by the last Christmas, when she came to his house. Mrs.Chang was Mrs.Diggory's best friend from Hogwarts, and she visited her often. Cedric was not close to Cho. Maybe he would have, if they were in the same year. He knew Cho from his childhood, but his crush was very recent.
And Cho. She was a very sweet girl and Very Popular at Hogwarts. She was pretty, hard working, and talented. She was good in the class, with nearly top grades and was also the Ravenclaw seeker. She was especially popular among the boys and for a fact, I knew even the 'Boy who Lived' had a crush on her. But I knew that she too had a crush on Ced. I mean it was very obvious. All that blushing while looking at him and speaking to him! It was not that difficult. Everyone can guess. And there were very few girls who didn't fangirl over him.
"Hey Cho!" Ced greeted her, and I could see a tint of pale pink on his cheeks.
"Can I sit here?" she asked
"Sure!" he said, without any thoughts.
Yeah, Sure. Don't mind me. I'm not here.
"Oh, hey (Y/N)!" I smiled. "Do you mind?"
"Not at all!" I exclaimed. I thought of giving them some privacy. "Actually, I need to meet the Weasley twins. I've to go. I'll be back after some time."
But both of them understood my real intention. They Knew I knew about them crushing on each other, though both were too oblivious about the, so obvious, feelings of the other. But they gave me a grateful look as though I actually left them so they could make out. Who were they kidding. There was going to be an awful lot of blushing, giggling, stuttering and awkward talking.
I shook my head and started walking in the hopes of finding some non - coupled compartment.
(A/N : I know Cedric is a fifth year in POA and Harry actually will be meeting Cho in this year. But I just wrote it for the story's sake. So, Cedric is in his sixth year during Sirius' escape and Harry already knows Cho.)
