Marauders In Time part 2

"Are you sure about this?" Remus asked.

Ginny sighed, "Remus I am sure. I am sixteen and been through a lot of stuff already. I can handle it."

The two were seated in an empty sitting room the day after the wedding, Remus holding a large black duffel bag. Luna then appeared at the door with Neville by his side.

"Hello Luna,' Ginny waved. "Hi Neville. Thanks for coming."

"We always want to help," Neville smiled. "Anything you need, we're here."

Remus grinned at Ginny, "You used the coins from Dumbledore's Army to contact them again?"

Ginny held up her coin, "It was the best way."

Just then, Fred and George entered the room and sat on either side of Ginny, much to her shock.

"What are you two doing here?" Ginny asked in an almost accusatory tone.

"We," Fred wrapped an arm around his sister's shoulders. "Are here to bring our brother back."

"We overheard you talking last night," George said, answering Ginny's confused expression. "Sorry Remus, we couldn't resist."

"No worries," Remus said. "Although, I do think this is perfect. The more people, the better for the plan."

Luna suddenly said in her dreamy voice, "Did you say I got the key to Dumbledore's vault?"

Ginny took it out of her pocket and handed it to her.

Luna smiled, "Thank you. Although I still don't understand why."

"I am about to explain it to you."

But Remus didn't get the chance to explain it because two more people walked into the sitting room. It was Ernie McMillan, a Hufflepuff boy that was also a part of Dumbledore's Army. And just behind him was Cho Chang.

"What are you doing here?" Ginny asked hotly, standing straight up.

"I wanted to help," Cho held up her coin. "I got the message and decided to join."

"What's in it for you?"

"Excuse me?"

Ginny glared at Cho with a look of pure anger, "Trying to get back in Harry's good books are you?"

"What does Harry have to do with this?"

"Everything apparently," Ginny retorted. "All of a sudden, you wanna help?"

"Yes I want to help," Cho didn't look like she was going to crack under Ginny's fierce glare. "I want to defeat You-Know-Who as well. That's why I joined Dumbledore's Army. And as I recall, you aren't dating Harry either. So-"

"Why don't we save the talk about Harry Potter another time?" Fred asked aloud. He was trying to stop himself from laughing. Ginny sat back down.

Remus nodded, "Yes this is important. You all know why you're here."

"Why are we here?" Ernie asked.

"We are going to time travel."

The words left an eerie of silence in the air. Remus watched their expressions carefully. None showed signs of backing out. However, Neville shifted uncomfortably in his seat and the corner of Ernie's mouth twitched.

Remus continued, "Now its going to be dangerous so I am gonna ask again that are you sure you're up for it?"

"We are sure Remus," Fred replied confidently.

"Sure as anyone," George agreed.

Remus nodded again, "Well the job is going back to the year 1995."

He took out one of the Time-Turners from his bag and placed it on the table, Luna tilted his head to examine it and Ernie turned it around. Remus took out the other three. 

"These two have different dates," Remus said. "That one has the year 1995 as well but it has 24 June written on it."

"That was the date of the third task for the Triwizard Tournament," Ernie said aloud, making Cho stiffen.

"Exactly," Remus said. "This one has the date of Halloween in 1994. And this one has October 21st 1981 on it. That was 10 days before Harry's parents died. Do you all know what it means?"

"We are going back to bring the dead people back to life?" Luna asked.

"No not exactly," Remus frowned. "See we cannot mess with time travel. If we travel to the past and change something, everything in the future could change as a result of it. But if we take something from the past, we have to go back to that same date and put the thing back. Similar to this. If we are bringing dead people back to the future, they have to go back to where they came from. That's what happened to me."

"So what is the point of bringing them here then?" George asked.

"To fight," Remus and Ginny said at the same time.

Another moment of silence filled the room, but this time it was due to everyone being deep in thought. The world was at war between the good and the bad. Everyone in the room wanted nothing but the defeat of Lord Voldemort. There might be a chance, right there and then, for them to finally bring back the freedom they deserved. Ernie studied the Time-Turners on the table while Neville stared into blank space.

"So we bring them back?" Cho asked, her voice cracking. "How do we do that?"

"We have to decide who is going into what time," Remus said. "And then plan out how you're going to get them to come with you. Its a lot of explaining and a lot of risks involved. It could go horribly wrong."

"Lighten up Remus," Fred nudged his arm. "We can do this. So who are we getting?"

"Percy," Ginny said instantly. "We have to get Percy. Mum and dad would want to talk to him."

"Dumbledore?" Neville asked. "He was the whole reason we are sitting here, right?"

"Right," Remus said. "And I think Luna should be the one to talk to him. He left the key to the vault to you for a reason. It could have been anyone else in this room. I think you should be the one to bring him back."

"But in which timeline?" Luna asked. "He is alive in all three of them."

No one answered. It wasn't all straightforward. Remus seemed to be deep in thought.

"We can get to that later," Remus said. "I think we should be getting Mad-Eye as well. He is the best of us and we are lost without him. I don't know-"

"I can get him," Ginny said. "I can get him and Percy."

"We wanna get Percy," George said. 

"No I want to."

"He is our brother too!"

"Guys!" Remus said. "We can decide on that later. Its important that we decide who to bring back first because they are our priorities."

"Cedric."

Everyone looked at Cho. Ginny narrowed her eyes at her.

Cho said again, "We should get Cedric. I just think...I think he would want to fight as well."

Remus gave this a thought and then nodded, "It would make sense why Dumbledore made a Time-Turner to go back to the third task."

"So we are taking Harry's parents as well?" Neville asked.

"It only makes sense," Ginny replied.

Remus seemed to frown a little, "It does make sense."

Fred noticed Remus's change in tone, "Hey Remus, we are bringing them back. Don't worry. You will get to talk to them when they do."

Remus nodded. Ernie clapped his hands, "So now we decided on who we are getting. Now shall we decide on who gets to find who?"
