"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! Let me remind you how the points currently stand! Tied in first place, with eighty-five points each... Mr. Cedric Diggory and Mr. Harry Potter, both of Hogwarts
School!""Brings back memories huh?" Ernie wondered.
"It's making me sick," Cho made a face to which Ernie apologized.
"Sorry sorry I forgot."
Cho shrugged, "It's alright. Just didn't think it would be this...painful. Going back to the night it all happened."
The two were squatted behind the stadium where they could hear the laughter and cheers from inside. It was nearly pitch black due to the night sky and very soon, the champions would be headed into the maze.
"It's a really good thing we got the Time-Turners first," Ernie said, holding up the Time-Turner they retrieved from the Ministry.
"Yes well we better hope that takes us to the right time. I still don't know the exact date we were from."
"As long as we get home safely."
There was a loud whistle and an even louder cheer from the crowd. The task had begun. Ernie and Cho both moved around the outside of the stadium to get to the maze. Once they reached the outer surface of the maze, Ernie checked to make sure they was no one within their eyesight.
"There's an opening," Ernie pointed at a small opening to enter the maze.
"We'll be entering the Third Task," Cho whispered, now sounding a little scared.
"I know but it's what we have to do."
There was a shuffling of feet nearby and Ernie quickly jumped through the opening of the hedge into the maze, pulling Cho behind him. They hid around the corner of the opening and they could hear footsteps getting clearer, passing them and slowly fading away.
"One of the patrols," Ernie whispered. "Gotta make sure we don't run into them."
"Or anyone else," Cho hissed. "I don't fancy bumping into Krum in here."
"He's not that bad you know."
"Let's just go."
And they started into the maze. Ernie leading the way with a light at the tip of his wand, Cho tagged along behind, looking over her shoulder every 5 seconds to make sure there wasn't anyone near them.
"Didn't Harry say there were creatures in the maze?" Ernie asked quietly.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" Cho hissed angrily, squealing suddenly.
"Just a twig," Ernie replied.
Cho heaved a sigh of relief, "I swear if nothing kills me in here, I'll jinx your legs together until we get back."
After a few more minutes of walking, neither spotting anyone or anything, they heard some movement.
"What was that?" Cho's voice raised about a tone higher.
Ernie peered around a corner and then quickly retracted.
"Don't panic," Ernie breathed slowly. "But there is a giant spider around the corner."
"A spi-"
Ernie slapped his hand on Cho's mouth as she looked like she was about to scream. Ernie peered around the corner again and narrowed his eyes on the Acromentula, currently nibbling on some dead frogs. The snap of his legs as it moved around on the spot sent shivers down Ernie's spine.
