Marauders In Time part 2

"Quickly! Up here!"

Professor Flitwick was hurrying as he ushered his students up the stairs and into the tower. He was followed by all his senior students who had remained to join the fight; a fight which it seemed had already begun. The screams and bangs from below their feet suggested Death Eaters were within the castle walls already.

"Okay here's the plan," Flitwick said hurriedly. "Michael and Anthony hurry up into the highest point of the dormitory where you'll have a clear view of the castle grounds. Excellent range for casting spells. Padma and Terry lead a group into the common room. I'll secure the rest of the tower."

Professor Flitwick had left the students and hurried down an empty hallway as Michael Corner opened the portrait door into the common room. As soon as he did, there was a scream.

"ARGGHHH!"

Michael had ducked out of the way just as a jet of green light flew through the open door. The portrait door had fully swung open to reveal Amycus Carrow, his face filled with anger and fury.

"STUPEFY!"

Terry Boot had fired a curse back and Amycus had to move out of the way to stop himself from getting hit. The Ravenclaws had burst into the common room only for Amycus' sister, Alecto, to reveal herself on the stairway.

"Pesky little kids!" She sneered, firing another curse at the door.

This time, the door had swung shut and Amycus, who had been hiding behind a large chair, fired a curse which blasted the wall next to the portrait.

"We can't get in!" Someone had shouted from outside.

"I'll blast my way through!" Another voice commanded.

"No! We're right next to the door!" Anthony shouted back.

There was no way for the other students to get through the portrait door so that left Terry, Michael, Padma and Anthony alone in the common room against two Death Eaters.

"Go left!" Michael hissed at Padma, who creeped towards the left side of the common room.

"You're not going anywhere! Little scum!" Amycus threatened them, blasting the chandelier next to them.

Anthony shot up to hit back but Alecto was quicker; her curse hit Anthony right in the chest and he had crumpled to the ground.

"We have to get to high ground!" Terry hissed at Michael. "I'll hold them off!"

Padma was still sneaking around through the side where she was not visible to the Carrows. She was currently plastered to the side of the fireplace where she was hidden from view.

"I've got it! Go!" Terry screamed.

He shot up and Alecto, anticipating this, fired a curse straight at him. Terry had equalled her and the two incantations collided right in the middle, initiating a loud bang. Michael had moved over to Anthony who was stirring.

"Padma!" Terry shouted for her help.

Padma revealed herself from behind the fireplace and, having a clear shot at Amycus, fired a Stunning spell which barely missed him and instead, hit a pile of books just behind him. That caused him to cry out and roll over.

Alecto, now on her own, had the task of dealing with 3 students. She first fired at Terry, who had to jump out of the way and ended up knocking into Michael Corner. Then she directed her attention to Padma, who had to cower behind the fireplace again. Anthony was now fully conscious and had recovered his wand.  Michael helped Anthony up and the two appeared over the table they were hiding behind to both fire hexes at Alecto. She screamed and started to duel the both of them at the same time.

Padma, who noticed the Carrows being occupied and saw Alecto moving away from the stairs, started to run so that she could get to the top. But then there was another blast and a hooded figure appeared right in the middle: another Death Eater.

"Padma!" Terry shouted as the figure tried to jinx Padma from behind.

Terry redirected his attention momentarily to Stun the Death Eater only for Alecto to hit a burst of green light into Terry's face. One after another, the hooded Death Eater and Terry fell the ground, neither moving nor showing any signs of consciousness. Alecto cackled just as Anthony was blasted back into the wall behind him by Amycus. 

"We have you now!" Alecto jeered.

But just as she was taunting them, there was a large explosion below their feet which caused all of them to tremble on the spot. Alecto whipped her head around to face the window and within the next second, she was blasted backwards similar to the way Anthony was. Amycus, redirecting his wand to the now shattered window, was just a fraction too slow as another jinx flew in and hit his lower body, causing him to crumple and groan in pain.

Padma looked at the window and in flew Cho Chang, riding her broomstick, right into the middle of the common room where she grounded herself. She stood over the hooded Death Eater's unconscious body and grinned at Padma. Following her through the window was Ernie, rather shakily, and he was more than relieved to get off his broomstick. And the last to enter was Cedric Diggory.

"Cedric?" Padma was as confused as she was relieved. "But how-"

"We will explain everything later," Cho said. "Ernie, get downstairs and try and warn the others that we made it. Padma, you should probably go up to the top. There's too many Death Eaters in the sky right now its impossible for us to move around. Michael, what happened?"

Michael was kneeling over Terry's dead body, his eyes still staring into oblivion. Padma felt her heart jump out of her mouth and Cho whispering Terry's name softly told everyone she too was heartbroken.

"I'm sorry Michael," Padma sighed, which was followed by another rocky explosion from below them.

"We have to get going," Cedric insisted. "Padma, get to the roof. Michael, move his body so its out of harm's way. We have a fight to win."
