First Chapter of Future Stories: Part 1

(Meeting James and Phoebe)

James' POV

Hello I am James Weatherby Norrington. The only son of James and Andromeda Norrington. My father died before I was born and as did my grandfather. I live with my mum, aunt and cousin. I am turning twenty-two soon and as is my younger cousin Henry Turner. I am a future governor, but I vowed to help Henry get his father back before I take the position.

So we joined the navy and are searching for Jack Sparrow. As he is the only one who can help us find Poseidon's Trident and free Henry's father of his curse. We've been searching for three years so far. I send mum letters when possible, but it's hard. I miss her and I know Henry misses his mum also.

Right now we are chasing another ship that is fleeing us. Henry is looking outside a hole with a mirror. As I help the crew. "Faster, you pathetic bilge rats! You'll pump the bilge and fill the scuppers. We're chasing down pirates!" Maddox tells us.

"Henry, get back here" I tell my cousin.

"Yeah, do you want yourself and your cousin to be kicked off another ship?" a man besides me demands. Henry looks at us.

"It's a Dutch barque. Probably stolen by the pirate Bonnet" he states. He looks at the mirror again and I go over to him. Planning to make him get back to work. "My god" he whispers pulling his arm back into the ship.

"What's wrong?" I ask him concerned.

"We have to see the captain" he tells me. I notice he looks scared. My cousin is not scared easily. I nod my head and we make our way to the stairs. Where Maddox is.

"I warned you of leaving your post, boys" he tells us.

"My cousin wishes to see the captain" I tell him.

"What did you say?" he asks.

"Move!" Henry shouts and pushes him out of the way. He races up to the deck and I follow him.

"Turner, Norrington!" Maddox shouts after us. But we ignore him. When we reach the deck I see a rock formation ahead and realize what has my cousin scared. It's the Devil's Triangle. We race to the helm.

"Chase her down" Captain Toms orders the man at the helm.

"No, don't do it!" Henry and I shout.

"You will not address the captain, boys" Officer Cole tells us.

"Sir, look at your charts" I tell the captain.

"I believe you're sailing us into the Devil's Triangle" Henry adds.

"You hear this, men?" Captain Toms asks the crew. "These landsmen believe an old sailor's myth" he states. Some of the crew titter and smirk.

"Sir, with all due respect. My cousin and I have spent most our lives studying the myths of the sea. we know every legend and every curse" I tell him.

"And we know ships that sail into the Triangle do not necessarily sail out" Henry adds as Maddox appears.

"I'm sorry, sir. These two are clearly disturbed" he tells the captain.

"Sir, trust in what we say. Change your course" I plead.

"You dare to give me orders, boy?" he demands.

"Arrest them" Officer Cole orders the crew.

"Anyone wants to touch my cousin, has to go through me first" I snap. Henry looks to the side, then makes a dash for the quarterdeck stairs. I follow him.

"I will not let you kill us all!" Henry shouts. He makes for the helm as I hold off some of the men at the stairs. I flip one over and punch another. But I am hauled off by a third and held fast, where several other point their muskets directly at me. I see Henry in a similar position with a busted lip.
