Eleanor Pendragon, the twin sister of Arthur Pendragon and only daughter of the late Queen Ygraine Pendragon (née de Bois) of Camelot. Who died in childbirth. That was nearly twenty-one years ago. Her closest friends were Morgana and Gwen. Eleanor longed for freedom. Will the arrival of a young sorcerer help her in her dream? Or will he become the reason she wishes to stay? Will she discover he has magic? If so, will she keep his secret?
(Castle) Third Person's POV
"Where is your sister?" Uther demands.
"Riding" Arthur answers.
"I told her she was not to leave the castle and to be present this morning" Uther snaps. He then takes a deep breath. "Send a couple of guards out to bring her back" he orders. Arthur nods and leaves as Uther goes out onto the balcony. It was nearly time for the execution.
Eleanor's POV
I laugh with joy as Ethel gallops over the hills. We're on our way back from our morning ride. Father hates it when I leave the castle, let alone the town without a guard. But I hate being followed by guards. So I make the most at whatever time I get alone. As I reach the hill that over looks Camelot, I see a lone young man.
"Good day" I say as Ethel pulls up beside him.
"Good morning" he stammers.
"New?" I ask.
"Ah yes, I've only just arrived" he states.
"Welcome to Camelot, try to stay out of trouble" I tell him. I suddenly hear horns and curse. "I'm late, see you around" I state and kick Ethel side gently. She canters towards the city and I take her to the stables.
"You're late" Arthur says crossing his arms leaning against the wall by Ethel's stall.
"I know, but I lost track of time" I tell him as I dismount. A stable hand takes Ethel to untuck her. "Let me guess, father was mad?" I ask as I link arms with him.
"Very, we're missing the execution" he states as he guides me to the castle.
"What a shame, I love an execution" I say sarcastically. "What was it this time?" I ask him.
"Sorcery" he answers and I roll my eyes. Typical. "You should not take magic so lightly, it's dangerous" he tells me.
"That's what father says" I state.
"He would not say it, if weren't true" he tells me as we reach the castle. "Go change and attend to your duties" he tells me. I roll my eyes, just because he is the older twin. Doesn't mean he gets to boss me around. But I nod and head for my room. As he wait to training. When I reach my room, I find my maid servant Joan is waiting with a new dress.
"How was your ride my lady?" she asks me.
"Lovely, it was a beautiful morning" I tell her. "Thank you for doing my bed and having a new dress ready" I say as I go behind the screen to strip of my riding dress.
"It is my duty my lady, I swept the fire place also and have brought you something to eat" she tells me.
"Thank you, I don't know what I'd do without you" I tell her. Once I was in my new dress, I let her brush the tangles from my hair. Before styling it, leaving it mostly down. "What are my duties today?" I ask her.
"You don't have many my lady, just your studies, afternoon tea with Lady Morgana and..." she pauses.
"And?" I ask her.
"Your father requests your presence at the feast tonight" she tells me.
"Don't feel like dining with a crowd tonight, you know how I loathe executions" I remind her.
