Tessa's POV
Hello, I am Tessa Darling the oldest daughter of Mary and George Darling. I used to have a little sister who looked up to me named Wendy. Along with a little brother named John. I'd always tell them stories of Peter Pan and Never Land. But things changed when I turned fifteen. Dad wanted me out of the nursery and to have a room of my own. To grow up and act more my age. More like a lady while he searched for my perfect match.
But I didn't want any of that. I wanted to stay young and care free forever. So one night four years ago when Wendy and John slept soundly in their beds. I sat on the chair looking out the window up at the second star to the right.
"You could do it you know" a boy says scaring me. I look to the tree in the garden to see a boy my age. His outfit resembles an elf's attire, consisting of a green short-sleeved tunic with a collar and a long V-cut neckline down to his heart, olive tights, and sienna-colored moccasin shoes. He wears a green Robin Hood-like hat with a red feather situated on the left-hand side, and has a brown belt around his waist which holds his dagger.
"Holy cricket, you're Peter Pan" I say smiling brightly.
"At your service" he says taking his hat off giving me a bow. "I've been watching you" he tells me and I blush lightly. "You believe in me and the Never Land. I know you don't want to grow up and long to fly to Never Land. You can do it, I can help you" he tells me.
"But what about my brother and sister?" I ask him looking at them. Wendy is eight and John is four. Mum is currently pregnant with another future little brother or sister. How can I leave her when she'll need my help most to raise the baby?
"They'll be fine, who knows maybe one day they'll join us" Peter tells me smiling. "Come with me Tessa, you can meet the lost boys, mermaids and Indians. You can be happy and free. Never grow up" he tells me.
"One problem with that plan Peter" I tell him and he looks at me confused. "I can't fly" I state.
"Oh it's easy" he tells me. "Tink!" he calls and a glowing orb flies down to him. When I look closer I notice it's a fairy. A real live fairy. "This is my best friend Tinkerbell, Tink meet Tessa" he says introducing us.
"Pleasure" I say and Tink jingles a greeting. "I'll come outside, wait in the yard" I tell them. I put on my shoes and rush quietly downstairs. I go into the back yard. "So what do I have to do?" I ask them.
"All you have to do is believe you can fly while thinking of a happy thought. Tink will dust you with some fairy dust and you'll be able to fly" Peter explains. I look up at the nursery window. "They'll be fine, trust me" he says placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Ok, lets got before I change my mind" I tell him. He smiles clapping happily as Tink sprinkles me with pixie dust. I think about living in Never Land of being free to do whatever I want whenever I want. I feel myself begin to float off of the ground.
"See you can fly" Peter tells me. He grabs my hand and takes off into the sky pulling me with him.
"Whoa, we're really high" I say as I look at Bloomsbury below us. We fly to London and land on Big Ben. "So what now?" I ask him.
"See the second star to the right?" he asks me pointing to it. I nod my head. "We follow it straight on until morning and we'll arrive in Never Land" he tells me. I nod my head and we take off again following the star.
(The Darling House the next morning) Third Person's POV
Wendy wakes up first in the nursery and sees Tessa's bed empty. She ignores it thinking she's downstairs helping their mother with breakfast. She slips into her slippers and runs downstairs. "Morning mum, Tessa" she says.
"Tessa's not up yet dear" Mary tells her second eldest daughter.
"But her bed is empty" Wendy tells her confused. Mary frowns and goes up to the nursery to see Wendy is right. In fact it looks like Tessa's bed hadn't been slept in at all during the night.
"George!" she shouts waking John and George rushes into the nursery. "Have you seen Tessa?" she asks him frantically.
"No, I haven't seen her since last night" he tells her.
"Her bed hasn't been slept in and no one knows where she is" Mary tells him worried.
"I'll call Scotland yard, don't worry Mary. We'll find her" he assures her. They leave the nursery.
"Where's Tessa?" John asks rubbing sleep from his eyes.
"I don't know John, I pray she's ok" Wendy tells him.
"Maybe she went to Never Land with Peter Pan, so that doesn't have to grow up" John suggests.
"She might of done, but you'd think she'd take you and I with her" Wendy tells him.
"Who will tell us stories now?" John asks her.
"I'll tell you and our future brother sister the stories. Tessa left her journal of Peter Pan stories behind" Wendy tells him. "Lets go have breakfast" she states and they go downstairs.
Meanwhile Tessa had arrived in Never Land with Peter and Tinkerbell safely. They went straight to hang man's tree. Where she was introduced to the lost boys and shown her room.
