Forget the Rules (SCP-049 x reader)

Part of you was worried about 035 coming back. You knew if it happened there was a very low chance of survival. There was one thing you could use. What was the ring...714?

How were you going to get it? 

"049? You don't think 035 is going to come back, do you?"

"There is quite a distance between us. He would have to wait for another vessel to make it easier."

You eventually came across a few bodies nearby an elevator. Your eye drifted to one of their hands... the ring.

You crouched down to pick it up. 

They must have known 035 was around. Seems like something else killed them though...

049 noticed you had the ring. You didn't like the look in his eyes.

"That stupid ring..."

"Hm? Oh, I thought you wouldn't notice..."

"It has stopped me so many times from curing others...Why do you need it?"

"It's because of 035, okay?"

"Alright. We should get going though, don't want to linger."

"Of course..."

You enter the elevator, spacing out.

And what's up with 049? Here's never acted like this... It's completely out of character...

Though...why stress? It's not like that could ever happen. It's not like he could ever like you like that...

"Y/N? Are you alright?"

"Huh?!" You almost jumped at his voice. "Oh, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"I mean... running didn't help..."

"Yes... I suppose we should find somewhere else to rest for a bit since we were... interrupted."

"That's one way to put it. Wait, did you press one of the buttons yet?"

"No."

"Of course not..."

You exited the elevator and hurried to another nearby breakroom. You flopped onto the couch. 

"Is it wrong to take a nap?"

"No."

"I might take a nap... I- What was that?!"

"What was-?"

"Shhhh!" You heard it again. Scrapping?

Oh crap...

It was getting closer.

But then it passed you.

"Oh, thank 343... That stupid statue..."

049 was mostly confused but didn't question your actions.

You laughed a bit, "Well, we are not leaving this room for a while".

You laid back and relaxed a bit. Sure, it was confirmed that dangers were around but hey, you seem a little safe for now.

At least safe enough to fall asleep.
