The Adventurous (HTTYD Hiccup x Reader)

Second Person POV

You sit on a sea stack with Nyra and Mischief as the others get ready to go through a practice drill for an upcoming mission to a Hunter shipyard. But, you weren't participating as you were still trying to get it through Hiccup's thick skull it was a trap. As you take a bite of an apple while turning the page of a book, leaning on Nyra as she lays on the grass at the top of the sea stack.

"And go!" Hiccup calls out to everyone, they all take off as you simply take another bite of the apple in your hand.
You lazily look to see the riders hold out jars of Nightmare Gel, you can hear Hiccup faintly count down before they drop them. The dragon's fire explodes as they hit the boat spot on, all except for Snotlout and the twins.

Their Nightmare gel bomb missed the boats completely, they slowly make their way back while the others wait for them. Once they were back Hiccup looks down at the sundial he set up.

"Slow and inaccurate. That's, uh, quite a combo." Hiccup comments, making Ruff roll her eyes while Tuff leans on Belch's horns.

"It was also our parents' nicknames for us! My nickname was 'Slow', which I thought was inaccurate." Tuff says smugly, causing Ruff to smirk while you huff playfully.

"Viggo doesn't know we found his shipyard yet--" Hiccup starts back you cut him off.

"Yes, he does." You call out making Hiccup roll his eyes, not listening again.

"We'll only have one chance at knocking out his fleet. We have to get it right." Hiccup explains, but you huff before rolling your eyes.

"This is an obvious trap, you'll die before getting anywhere close to knocking out his fleet." You argue, making Hiccup groan before rolling his eyes.

"Not now, Y/n." Hiccup replies, making you huff before settling back into reading your book.

Everyone had been noticing your hostile mood recently, which Hiccup was partly to blame because whenever you had said something was a trap set out by Viggo. Every time, you were right and Hiccup, every time, said he'll listen to you next time.

It was frustrating to you that he wasn't keeping up with his end of the bargain.

But Astrid would listen and that would lift your mood a little.

"Y/n, don't act like this." Hiccup whines but you ignore him, being petty was something you did when you were upset with someone.

"Y/n..." Hiccup then drags out your name, making Dracul roll his eyes as you've done this to him multiple times.

"Hiccup, she's upset with you what do you expect?" Dracul asks, finding this thing silently amusing.

Hiccup then realized why you were upset with him as the others laugh at Dracul's question, they all fly off to leave you two to sort out your differences. Once you hear the others fly off, you throw the remaining apple to Mischief, who then rolls it around before taking a bite.

Hiccup sighs before going to sit next to you, only to be growled at by Nyra. Who didn't want Hiccup near you at the moment, Toothless then pushes Hiccup away from you so he's sitting opposite of you.

"Y/n..." Hiccup starts nervously as he watches your eyes move intently as you read. You don't look up from your book, seemingly not hearing him speak.

"Y/n, please look at me." Hiccup tells you with more confidence, your eyes halt on a word and Hiccup takes note. After a second, he realizes that you're listening but not looking at him.

'It's best I'm going to get at the moment.' Hiccup says to himself.

"Y/n, talk to me... Please." He whispers loud enough for you to hear, making you sigh.
