The Adventurous (HTTYD Hiccup x Reader)

Second Person POV

The sound of the ground crunching fills your ears as you walk, dead leaves falling from leaves as Winter comes. You knew the forests of Berk like the back of your hand, having mapped them hundreds of times.

You were never really sure where your love of mapping, exploring, and tracking came from. Your father taught you everything between the days you'd spend on the boat, trading with many islands. You would stop on an unhabituated island to rest, train, track, and do whatever else was happening.

Your mind wonders about the Dragon raid that happened last night, hearing Hiccup talk about shooting down a Night Fury. Again.

You always believed him, even when he was wrong numerous times but this time something was nagging at you to check Raven Point.

An old fallen tree, moss growing on the decaying trunk, comes into view and you jog over and climb up before walking across it. Your feet dance across the tree trunk, instincts taking over allowing you to make barely any sound.

As you drop down onto the ground a distant echoing voice startles you and instinctively your hand moves to your knife.

"...manage to lose an ENTIRE DRAGON?!" The voice yells, and you know exactly who is it.

"Hiccup?" You whisper before tracking him down, stalking him from the trees.

Your grip on your knife loosens slightly, watching as he squints while examining something. You follow his eyes and spot the destruction ahead, a tree is almost separated from its base. Something big hit the ground, hard.

Hiccup walks up the hill before immediately hiding, he was terrified before looking again. Curiosity gets the better of you, walking to see what Hiccup saw while remaining out of sight.

Your eyes widen as you see what it is, having only seen them from afar and hearing stories from your family.

'A Night Fury...'

Hiccup slides down the small dirt mound, still in disbelief at what he was looking at. The Terrified expression then turns to pure joy and excitement.

"Oh, wow. I did it. Oh, I did it! This fixes everything! Yes! I have brought down this mighty beast!" Hiccup celebrates, placing his foot on the dragon he thought was dead, only to be shoved away with a tired huff.

Deep breaths come from the dragon, terrifying Hiccup as he grabs out his knife. Hiccup holds it tightly while breathing heavily, and you get ready to lung and stop him if he starts to go through with it.

The Night Fury looks at Hiccup, one eye showing the Viking a scared expression before losing hope. Hiccup stares while lowing the knife, hesitating, before shaking his head and holding the knife high again.
The Night Fury sighs before giving in and closing their eyes, Hiccup then steps back in shock giving in at the sight. 

"I did this..." Hiccup realises, and you relax a little and watch his next move.

After a moment, Hiccup starts cutting the rope and alerts the dragon with one snapping. The Night Fury waits until enough are cut to use his strength to break free. Once Hiccup cuts the fifth rope the Night Fury springs, they knock Hiccup down against a rock with their wings.

The dragon puts a claw on his chest to keep him pinned, growling with its wings spread to make him look bigger. Hiccup whimpers while looking at the Night Fury, not sure if it'll spare him or not.
The Night Fury lifts itself a little before roaring in his face, warning him but also granting Hiccup life as he did to it. The Night Fury then turns, staring at you for a second before snorting and running off and flying lopsidedly towards the cove.
