Can't Breath

"Hiccup, the Scauldron!" Fishlegs calls out, realising why Nyra was getting close to the centre before continuing to push against it.

"I see it, Fishlegs!" Hiccup calls as Meatlug sinks further down, hovering just above Nyra, who was keeping her in a somewhat stable condition.

"Hold on, girl!" Astrid yells to Stormfly while getting pulled in Stormfly's wings start to tire, and Ryu chirps, noticing his friend struggling.

"Hiccup, it's pulling us in!" Astrid tells him in panic, as you lay on Nyra with Mischief on top of you.

"Just stay on my back, Mischief!" You say, earning a worried chirp in understanding.

"Fly against it. Push harder!" Hiccup orders, holding onto the saddle tighter than he previously was.

"Oh, this keeps getting better by the second!" Snotlout groans and Nyra drifts closer to the water, concerning Dracul.

"Y/n!" He yells as you try to figure out Nyra's thought process.

"Nyra, you aren't strong enough to get the Scauldron and fight against the... whatever this is!" You communicate, but your words don't reach your brother as Ryu tries to get closer. However, the wind causes him to flap harder, Ryu not being as strong as Nyra.

"Y/n!" Dracul calls again, and this time you try to signal you're okay before Nyra tries to fly toward the Scauldron.

"Get Hiccup!" You yell, feeling your throat dry at the volume.

"On it!" Dracul replies before looking up at Hiccup, "Hiccup! Y/n has a plan, or at least Nyra does!"

Hiccup looks down to see how close Nyra is, which shoots concern through him, as he spies the predicament you're in. Hiccup then watches Nyra fire into the middle of the whirlpool, missing slightly and firing more toward the Scauldron.

She was seemingly trying to catch the other's attention.

"Okay, we only have one hope." Hiccup starts, and everyone turns to him.

"Concentrate our fire. Everyone, blast into the mouth. Now!" Hiccup's voice reaches everyone, together all the dragon's fire into the mouth of the whirlpool. Once the fire hits, the force seemingly lets up immediately, letting the dragons relax somewhat as the water starts to calm.

The Scauldron starts to swim away, quicker than the pace before Nyra joins everyone higher up. Mischief also gets off your back, allowing you to sit up.

However, you weren't exactly standing anytime soon while over the strait.

"You know, now that I think about it, I would hypothesize that the dragon/man-eating whirlpool is probably what scared those merchants away," Tuff explains once everyone calmed down.

"I would concur with the said hypothesis, brother Nut. No boat could withstand such a display of natural force." Ruff agrees, both using their 'science' voice.

"Agreed," Dracul sighs, laying against Ryu as the Scuttleclaw chitters towards his rider.

"What was that? A sea monster?" Astrid asks, exasperated and catching her breath.

"Not a sea monster. A powerful Tidal Class dragon, the Submaripper. I've read about them in the Book of Dragons. Much scarier in person." Hiccup explains quickly.

"But why would a Submaripper take hold in a narrow area? They prefer deeper, open water They're typically very reclusive." Fishlegs questions, adding an excellent point to the mysterious Submaripper.

"I don't know. What I do know is we have an extremely territorial and dangerous dragon on our hands." Hiccup declares before everyone flies towards Berk, with you lying back on Nyra and falling asleep.
