An: Read my newer Wenclair book 'Dust and Dandelions'!
I switch to POV's the third chapter so it won't all be written in third person :)
This couldn't be more uncomfortable Wednesday thought to herself as she drudged her way through the halls of Nevermore. She had been here for 2 whole minutes and all the students had swarmed to be by her and watch the school's "hero" make her way to her room. No one dared to be within arms reach of her though. There were a lot of "welcome back's" but really she would've preferred if they minded their damn business. The idea was nice. Disgusting.
Now that principle Weems was dead, Wednesday wasn't really sure what to expect this year ahead, but had a small glimmer in her eyes knowing that whatever headmaster they throw into this cesspool of freaks would perish in the blink of an eye. Thing had accompanied Wednesday, perched right on her shoulder until she placed her bags down and he hopped right onto the table at the foot of her bed.
"I was sure Enid would be here before me" she mumbled to herself as she took her typewriter out. Thing tapped his fingers and signaled his message. "Have you mistaken me for some other teenage girl? You forget I don't miss anyone, I can't even fathom the thought of wasting a second on someone other than myself." He signaled again and she replied, "yes that is selfish and toxic. Again, I don't care."
The door burst open and Wednesday turned to see Enid's parents emerge with bags loaded onto their hairy arms and Enid closely followed behind unable to see past them. "You can put my stuff on the left side. WAY on the left side. Wednesday would LITERALLY kill me if anything were past the middle of the room."
"You must be Enid's roommate" her mother smiled before realizing the girl stood perfectly still staring at them. She reached her hand out to shake Wednesday's, which was met with glaring eyes and no movement at all.
"OH MY GOD WEDNESDAY!!" Enid shrieked running over with her arms out. "Hello, Enid." There was a bit of an awkward silence while the werewolf's parents stood watching the small interaction. "Ok honey well... we'll be taking off now." Enid's father smiled with his kind eyes and embraced his daughter before her mother bid her dues and they were in the room alone.
"I assume 3 of those bags have your soul staring stuffed animals" Wednesday said turning her back to finish unpacking. "Wrong. They have my new fascination.. pretty posters and boy band merch! They're totes adorbs." Thing scuffled over to Enid while Wednesday scoffed and choked down an insult. "I've moved on from those childish animals, you know, a person can really change in a few months. Seems like you haven't."
Wednesday turned to face her bright and way too colorful roommate. "I would never change and I don't see why I would. I'm sensible, independent, and have better things to do with my life than give in to society's disgusting take on life." Enid gleamed seeing Thing and exclaimed "oh Thing I have been waiting so long to see you again!" He waved his stitched fingers around and Enid gasped.
"Wednesday Addams missed me?" Wednesday rushed over and yanked Thing from Enid's bed. "I told him specifically I did NOT and will NEVER miss anyone. He," she snapped while struggling to contain him in her hands, "has a surprising amount of words to say for something that doesn't have a mouth."
"I won't get between you and your buddy but there must've been a reason he thought that. You know you are pretty rude to him right? He's part of your family and he's only saying things from the bottom of his.. well I would say heart but he's a hand." Before Wednesday could snap back with a snarky remark her phone dinged. She opened it up to see a text from the blocked number that had messaged her the day she left.
You made it, welcome back Addams >:)
The werewolf gaped at the sight of a phone in Wednesday's hands. "No freakin' way- when did you get a phone? And it's an iPhone? AND YOU DIDN'T FIND A WAY TO CALL ME?!"
"Don't think so highly of yourself in my life. I haven't messaged anyone, someone has been texting me. Apparently I have a stalker that wants me dead and I have yet to find out who. But believe me, I will. Blood will be shed and unfortunately it will not be mine."
