Un-intended: chapter nine
"See. All went to plan and I go another day with my peace of mind." I smiled while sitting down. "Mom and dad leave tomorrow and I am in the clear."
"Whatever." Lola shook her head. "You can't live in secret for long, Lulu. You need to rip off the bandaid and tell them. You don't know how they could react."
"I do know. They will freak out. They believe that Luca is my husband, why should I screw that up?"
"Unbelievable. Really." Dallas walked out of the kitchen. "I try and talk to Jorja, but she doesn't want to hear. I'm done trying to convince her."
"What are you two arguing about now?" Lola sighed.
"A stupid ass shirt," Dallas said. "She claimed that I didn't return her shirt, but I did. I can't help it that she misplaced it."
"Enough with you guys' arguments." Lola rolled her eyes. "Look, Lulu. All I'm saying is, keeping up with the lies won't get you anywhere."
"Well, I wouldn't have to lie if you weren't going to spill the beans. I'm protecting myself." I crossed my arms.
"Because they need to know."
"But it's not your business to tell. For once, mind your own business. You've been so negative since I found out I was pregnant." I huffed.
"Because I'm trying to look out for you!"
"Lola, I'm not a little girl anymore! You don't have to make every decision for me."
"I do when you make stupid mistakes. You've been reckless with everything you do. I'm always here to clean up the mess."
"That's not true. At all! I'm more responsible than you!" I exclaimed.
"Luna. You wouldn't survive without me. I move to New York and you decided to move to New York. Everything I do you do!" She huffed.
"I wouldn't survive without you? You wouldn't survive without me! Who's paying you? If you want to get technical. Who constantly has to spot your share of the rent because you're too busy chasing auditions you don't book?" I scoffed. "I work to support your unrealistic dream."
"Unrealistic? My dreams are unrealistic? Yours is! You want to be this famous baker. Let's talk about the payments you are behind for the bakery. What are you gonna do when the bakery shuts down and you're stuck with two babies and a baby father who wants nothing to do with it!"
"Fuck you, Lola. You're such a pretentious bitch. You've always been. I'm sick of it. For once, I need you to be the loving supporting sister and you aren't being it. I don't need tough love and I don't want it. You're not my mother so stop acting like it." I stood up.
"I'm the bitch? You sit there and try to play this perfect princess role. Oh, I'm Luna and I'm perfect and I would hurt a fly."
"I'm just going to walk away from this conversation before it gets deeper than it already is," I said.
"Running away like always!"
I ignored her. I walked into my room and plopped on the bed.
Was I wrong for lying to my parents? I felt guilty about the entire situation. I never in my life questioned God, but I can't seem to ask him anything else but why. Why me? Why twins?
They say having kids is a blessing, but it only feels like a curse. It's been tearing me and my sister apart. I've been trying to be positive about the situation, but nothing is going the right way.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Luna. It's Luca."
